This would be only for poker so I think 128 should be enough, the only really big thing on there will be pt4 or maybe CRev.

I only have 4 gigs of ram and my machine is plenty fast. Anyone who doesn't have a 64 bit OS is limited to 4 gigs utilized.

I think a lot of slowdowns are mistakenly attributed to memory or CPU when they can be things like virus scanners or a fragmented HD or god knows what. In the past I've had to "exclude" HEM, Table Ninja, poker sites from anti virus real time shield programs and it helped a lot.

arent all factory windows 7s 64 bit these days?

32 bit is closer to 3.2-3.4 anyway.

if "only for poker" means ONLY poker stuff, then its prob fine. if you browse, music, etc at the same time, i would go more than 4.

fatlike, what os you use?

I use Win8, but it's an upgrade from an ancient copy of Vista, I spose I could change it to 64 bit but that's a pain.

95% of cell phones could handle 3 tabling. you'd need to be more specific to actually narrow down anything.

on another note, any mouse recs? my deathadder just broke, before that had a g500 and an mx518 for 3 and 5 years respectively. using the same 518 atm, but it feels kinda small and the rubber is dying after ~10 years. considering the steelseries sensai (basically an intellimouse) but not sure if the size is similar. really liked the large-ness of da/g500

I have been using the Logitech G9x for 4 years or so and love it. Great for people who have a claw grip or a quasi claw grip.

looks way smaller than a 518 even, which feels small compared to da/g500, is that wrong?

mmmmm well none of my hand generally touches the mouse besides my fingers so I guess it's smaller. If you are a wrist/arm mover it probably isn't the mouse for you.

yeah im a low sens type. used to use 13" for a full 360 ingame. i got used to a full feeling mouse, so when my palm rests on nothing it feels too small. kinda why im debating the sensai. think i could rma the g500 if w.e i pick doesnt work out

can some one w a 30 inch dell U311 confirm that it supports 2560x1600 pixels (monitor u311), atleast manual (and amazon) says it does

tried it via hdmi and dvi outlets but max i could get was 1920x1200, i assume i need the display port to reach the 2560 solution? if my graphic card doesnt have a display port, can i use an adapter and still reach the 2560 res?

I don't own one but anyway, you will need a dual link DVI-D cable. I've read about cases where WQXGA would only work on one of the DVI inputs, so make sure to try both. If none of them work it could be a driver issue, in which case a driver update with the monitor plugged should help.

Does anyone here play on a laptop with a glossy screen?

The laptop that I am thinking of buying has one and i'm worried the reflections will drive me mad.

Using glossy screens is just about making sure you put work station in a place that isn't going to have a light source at a bad angle, they're perfectly usable.

yea hdmi def does not support 2560x1600 (at least the version found in 99.99% of computers). dual link dvi cables will though. make sure your dvi cable looks like the one on the left here

There was this issue itt awhile ago.

The HDMI standard supports x1600 and has supported that resolution for a long time, but many laptops won't push out that resolution because of old/lazy/cheap companies not upgrading their products.

If you have to convert to displayport, GL. I've never gotten that crap to work for any extended period of time.

Also, I just noticed 27" iMacs have big resolution. My life would be so much easier if I could just put one of those in a case and send it on a plane.

I know, I was googling earlier. The setback is that I have two working computers and iMacs are expensive.

...guess I could sell my 30" monitors since I wouldn't need them anymore!

Yes.
There are single-link-DVI and dual-link-DVI outputs/inputs.
As well as cables.
