Thanks for the update.

I heard a rumor it's gonna be $5 to park during the week, $10 on weekends, $20 on holidays. Any insights/thoughts to the contrary?

$10 on weekends seems outrageously greedy, even for the HR. Praying it's not true.

Pfft. Be lucky they don't charge you a breathing fee on weekends and holidays. Or a pain free fee where if you don't cough up the $20 upon entering, a midget slams a ball peen hammer into your jimmie. Never underestimate the greed of the THR.

Wait, are they serious with the $10.00 on weekends? Hahahaha wow, if that's true, just wow.

I'm gonna be there to play 3-6 O8 tomorrow.

The dinner break rule is silly. Take your chips off the table & get back on the list? DUMB. 1's 2's & 5's play in a 3/6 O8 game? Dumb. Dealers spent WAY too much time giving change & attempting to split the pot. Make it white chips only. Good bakery in the casino though.

I wonder if they'll start charging for parking in the garages tonight? If the plan is still to start in June, the last Friday of the month seems like it'd be a lucrative time for them to do it.

What do you think the "dinner break" rule should be?

Put a "meal" button in front of the players stack & give them 1 hour to eat. Pick the player up if not back in allotted time. Not that complicated really.

So if 3 players decide to go eat around the same time, the table has to play short handed for an hour and folks on the list can't get in the game?

You've never heard of 3rd man walking rule? 3rd player to leave has 15 minutes before being picked up. Besides that the room plays 10 handed so playing with 7 isnt really playing short handed.

Do you know about the meal ticket? Grab one from a brush before you go eat and you go right to the top of the list if there is a wait.

I shouldnt have to take $ off the table & get back on the list. Its a dumb rule. Dont get me started on the mix of chips on the 3/6 O8 game. I'm going to assume the 6/12 is ran just as poorly.

This isn't 3rd man walking, this is specifically a meal ticket he's talking about. So that would involve telling people that only so many can eat.

3rd man walking is about just getting up from the table for whatever reason (restroom, smoke break, stretch your legs, whatever). And 3 was a random number...half the table could decide to eat at the same time...how do you decide who gets to leave their chips and who doesn't?

Of course, he could just get up leaving his chips at the table and get something at the food court and be back in plenty of time anyway. But you couldn't go to one of the main restaurants that way, hence the meal ticket.

When they open the new room, there will be food service in the room, so then he can just keep playing. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (Tampa, FL) -- FAQ in OP, updated 2019.11.24

I honestly could'nt care less. I'll probably never play in the room again. I just think some changes could be made to make the games run smoother for the players.

i played here last night for the first time. Here's my trip report:

1) No charge for parking as of yet

2) Room is jam packed with too many tables too close together

3) Tables are overly large which is nice with plenty of room between players

4) I have a bad back and the chairs are the most uncomfortable of any room Ive ever played in. Im not sure I can go back today and will probably try Silks for the sole reason that the chairs killed me. I doubt this is a problem for most people though.

5) Table selection was key. I sat at my first table and right away I heard 4 guys talking about detailed complex strategy. Of course that is very stupid, but everything they were saying was correct and they also seemed to be playing pretty well so I asked for a table change.

6) 3 people got called for 2/5 while I was waiting for my table change. That should never happen.

7) Got my new table and it was like opposite land compared to the first table. One guy played 94 and hit 2 pair and won. He then tells me that at Tampa HR you have to play junk cards because they always put up low card flops here. He was one of the better players at this table. The action was insane at this table. Mr Junk man and a whale were playing every hand no matter what the cost and there were big pots all night.

One hand the whale shoved $600 into a $100 pot on the river. Board showed 85362. Opponent called with 84. Whale showed a 7 and mucked. He burned thru about $4k in 2 hours

I was pretty card dead but won $250 in 3 hours.

Pretty ridiculous logic, obviously. If he had even a basic understanding of probability/statistics, he would know that "low flops" or "high flops" do not vary from casino to casino. What most of us here know is that some dealers always flop low cards, and other dealers always flop high cards. Duh.

love seeing trip reports. good report.

player transfer are the worst at hard rock. i don't think they even have a system, each floor and podium worker does it their own way... and most players just seat themselves without anyone saying anything.

if you don't like the chairs at hard rock, i don't think you're going to like the ones at silks.

Well gosh darn, lighting just struck...Now I know why I lose all the time, I get the dealers who always flop the low cards and I only play premium big card hands...damn, and I thought it was due to the fishes running me down all the time with their garbage hands...shoot, I have a whole new strategy, I'm only playing when the dealers who flop the "high flops" are at my tables...thanks!

I'll be there in July. Does 5/5 PLO play fairly standard if comparing other US locations? Does 5/10 NL ever get going?
