Yeah I just noticed the time you posted and I didn't get there until the tail end of you session. I was working all day (hence the massage lol).

I've been around, but playing less in general since school started. I thought I saw you recently but wasn't sure because you weren't in your Victory Poker sweatshirt.

played all night tonight w/ DeeKay- cool guy. I think he would agree we had some of the funniest moments/lines I've ever heard spoken at the tables. Got pwned at times, but getting unstuck from 3 bi's deep is always morally satisfying (or ****ing awful, depending on how you look at it)

It was the best of tables, it was the worst of tables. A tough lineup of regs and solid players to be sure, but it was hilarious nonetheless. From Korean Sammy the Cowboy who spent a lot of time making origami out of dollar bills, to the owner/spewtard owner of RPM Poker (great guy BTW) to, well, me and limitfish id'ing ourselves as 2p2'ers through the "sup bro" code word, it was a night to remember.

Of note was the hand that got limitfish unstuck for the night. LF is in the 1 seat, seat 4 occupied by a guy from California who was looking for a 20/40 limit game (LOL limit fish). Alas, all that was running was NLHE. He kinda reminded me of TJ Cookier without the awful perm. Cookier limps UTG, as does Korean Sammy, Chicago Josh (tough reg), yours truly in the 10, and LF completes in the SB. Flop comes 322hh, LF and Cookier check, Sammy leads Josh folds, I call, LF raises, Cookier shoves. Sammy and I fold, and LF tanks for a bit. He mutters something about 3s full and then calls with A5hh. Cookier triumphantly rolls over the 42o for trips/no kicker/no re-draw. LF gets there on the river for Cookier's $250, who proceeds to rant about "if you played like that in California, YOU'D GET BROKE!!!" and storms out of the room. After the hand LF says "damn, I wish I had thought to say "COOL STORY BRO" after Cookier left!". I proceed to piss myself.

^^ Awesome

Played last night at the Tampa Downs (ran bad down 2 buy ins) Anyway, talk at the table was about Lou at the Hardrock. It was pretty amusing. No one seemed to have a good word to say about him. Mostly regs at the table with me including a former dealer from Derby (tight player, great dealer). After the situation that happened was explained he agreed Lou is dumb haha.

Side note: There is a 'private'/ invite only $25/$50 NLHE (played much bigger, there was a man. straddle and when they are bored it becomes a man. straddle and a blind raise to an insane amount) game that runs at The Downs and apparently rumor has it that there is a movement to get a "Big game" running there. How big? Who knows but my source is reliable.

To make this post more relevant to Tampa HR...

Is a new room confirmed? How about the WPT event, confirmed?

Btw, AzAssassin, if you read this you know who I am... PM, for some reason I can't PM you.

New room is confirmed, should open by the first of the year. At least the same amount of tables as they currently have. The new building is being built by the smoke shop behind the casino.

I read in CardPlayer the WPT plans on coming to HHR and THR within the next 5 years, but no definitive dates as of yet.

I heard from a guy who plays the 25/50/100 game that starting wednesday (2 days ago) they higher players were going to try to get a big game going there more regularly.....

I have been grinding the hell out of silks 1/2 for a couple weeks now... give me a sup bro next time youre in the room...

edit: how is the 2/5 game at silks? I played once since the change and the play seemed very very good..... though I am pretty sure the only pot I got involved with was with one of you...

http://www.worldpokertour.com/Shared..._Showdown.aspx

April 27th seems like a pretty definitive date to me.
As for the next 5 year thing... they have a contract for 5 years, in which they could do the event at either property. But I am presuming they will all be around the same date. WPT usually keeps their schedules pretty set.

I have played the 2/5 game at Derby and Hard Rock and dealt the 2/5 game at The Silks.

I'd say that the level of game play by your opponents is better than Derby and worse than Hard Rock. The game play is so bad at Derby that is becomes old Florida showdown poker and very volatile. And while the Hard Rock is still a very beatable game you do have to practice good game selection and be willing to ask for table changes.
I'd say for The Silks the games are almost always soft but never extremely volalite, unless it is super late at night and people are trying too hard to get unstuck.

There used to be a lot of people that would min buy at The Silks game, but that seems to have gone away, so there is always a decent amount of money on the table.

Anymore questions about it feel free to PM me, I don't want to hijack this thread w/ questions and answers about another room... it is poor 2+2 etiquette and unprofessional of me.

Heading to either HR or Silks tonight. Hoping to meet up if anyone is there. Going to wear jeans, dress shoes, faux hawk/spiked hair and a black shirt. Sup bro with a head nod should suffice. Let me know if any one else is going, leaving around 11 or 12.

Looked for you on that table. I said "Sup bro?" to a few people that got up from that table and none of them were you. haha Did it in a way that didn't make me look like a creep... lmfao Were you the dude in seat one? Or maybe seat six?

$2/$5 was packed with regs and short stacks. Tried to play $5/$10 but the table broke before I sat. I ate dinner and went home.

Probably headed to HR.

So who was the young Asian kid wearing the FullTilt gear? Not sure if he was 2+2, but definitely seemed like a solid internet kid. At one point he accused me of live bumhunting when I transfered, lol.

If anyone can PM me some info of when the "big game" is supposed to take place or the days that the 25/50/100 normally runs, I'd greatly appreciate it. If you can get me in the game i would sell you a little piece of my action or freeroll you a small %
