1/2 80-300 would be the nuts

I agree in theory, but if they were forced to buy in for 100, could some, perhaps many, of them opt to play the safer 2/4 limit, or not play at all? I want the donks at the 1/2 game at all costs, that's for sure.

I Agree on this I have been to games were the blinds are 1/2 and they let them buy in for $20. Ten BB Really??? Then they wonder why there loosing their stack every 30 minutes. Just Ridiculous.

Any thoughts or comments on the MTTs at THR?

I will be there Fri-Sat. Are there any worth playing? (good structure, soft fields, decent payouts???)

thanks

The Silks thread has the comps there as food, drinks, or match play (I was told this was like rakeback as you get/keep the chips at a cash table), at these rates:
.50/hr 1-2
1.00/hr 2-5
3.33/hr 5-10

What are THR's comps and can you get them as chips/rakeback?
AFAIK its .60/hr at 1/3 and below and $1/hr at 2/5 and up

Or should I go to another area casino?

Derby Lane is better for MTTs. The HR structure stinks.

I live in Orlando and was gonna play a $120 mtt at HR this weekend. I had never even heard of Derby Lane. It looks like it's worth the extra drive over the bay compared to HR

It is worth the extra drive. Derby has the best tournaments in the area IMO, while THR will just leave a terrible taste in your mouth. I know Derby has a good tournament on Sunday.

Check about this weekend. Easter Sunday, I don't know how good the tourney is going to be for the 1pm (if they are open) and they are. I thought this was the monster weekend for them. Saturday 1pm is the 'Show Me the Money' tournament 430+10 b/i (20k units 30 min blinds +10 for 5K more in units). the 6pm is a 210 b/i turbo 4k units 15 min blinds. The 8pm is 97 b/i 10k 25 min blinds.

Sunday is their Poker Run Main Event (normally the 1pm is about 100 b/i) but because it's their main event its 200 b/i. But it's a KO tourney 50 dollars for each person you knockout. 10K units 25 min blinds.\

The 7pm (which on Sunday actually gets a decent showing of 5-6 tables usually) is another KO (10 dollar bounty) 85 b/i 6K in units 25 min blinds.

To be honest, when it comes to tournaments, Derby really does give you the most band for your buck. Silks is starting to have some decent tournaments, but the structure is still a little aggressive, really does favor the gamblers.

As for THR, a year or so ago the tournaments were worse then they are now. Honestly, the structure is a little better, but for their smaller tournaments it still feels like a shove/donk fest. I hope that the HHR takes a page from the WPT and structures their tournaments a little better and that structure finds it's way up here. That first event I really wish I could have played. Great structure and really deep stacks, I'd b/i every week for 350 if I could play in that type of field.

I figured, but since I've got about 12 screens of google chrome going at the same time here, I just opened another to get derby's schedule :-). Oh how I hate the world of financial management.

I have been out of town for a couple weeks, so tell me THR regs (parisron, etc), have the online players shown up yet and started "crushing" things yet? Cant wait to get back home next week, have not played in like a month. Anyone know what the May promotion will be?

I think I know my answer in terms of my first question.

Oh yeah, lots of new non-regs been swimming in the THR waters. Games have been more aggressive, more 3-bets with trash, etc. Can't say they've done too well (at least the ones I've played against).

Unfortunately my roll doesn't allow for that, if I go I'll probably be playing in that 97x deal or the midnight madness.

Midnight madness is just that, madness. 50 player capped tourney with 1K gtd to first. However, 4K in chips for 60 dollars, and 10 min blinds. It is the definition of a ultra turbo. I've played in it about 6 times and final tabled every time and got no cash at all. Shove fest at about the 45 minute mark.

They have been giving comps .6/hr for 1/2 and all omaha, stud and limit games and 1/hr for 2/5+ NL and whenever they run it the 2/5+ PLO.

You have to get and use a players club card, which they have always had, but us as poker players got no benefit from except for discount on vallet and buffet. The way they do the comps is stupid, rather than let us use them like table games and slot players, we have to request a paper comp from a supervisor at the brush stand and use it. It's good for 24 hours and you cant make change from it, so if you get a comp for 8$, you have to use it or lose it.

Haven't been in ages...just want to clarify...
They track your player's card separately so that you can only be given paper comps from a Sup?

That's kind of ghetto if true.

Luckys 1/2 plo runs just about every day. Plays very deep and majority of players are dog track degens.

Yes. But you realize how much rooms cost right?
