I've seen PLO8 games at the Hard Rock twice in three years and they don't last very long. Usually when I ask the dealers, they'll mention the PLO game, assuming that's what I meant. I'd go out of my way to play PLO8 if a group of people put that together though.

Pretty sure it's more common to have a kill in a live O8 game than not.

pain in the ass though, cus i guess you basically have to play till 5am and come back at 2pm to get your prize right? i don't mind playing till 5am; but then i don't want to be back at the casino in 9 hours

luckily i am pretty close.
Who said it was minimum $100? I'm fully expecting 12 mugs.

Regarding the WPT events, specifically Event #2, which is one of their turbos: On their site it says its "$175 + $25 + $20 Reentry." So its $220 total to play in it. Am I right that the $20 is mandatory dealer add-on/tip? If so, if I am fortunate to do well, I'm not tipping anything additional because they'd effectively be adding a mandatory 10 percent tip from the player pool.

Yes, everything is mandatory, but I don't know that any of it specifically goes to the dealers. Being that the total juice is 26%-- something I swear you will see nowhere else on Earth-- one would expect that it would. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if it doesn't. It's a good question to ask.

there was also discussion that they needed to dump BBJ money or something and that is why this would be an especially good promo. guess we'll see

I was playing monday night and one of the dealers that seemed pretty informed about the promo said there would be two wheels to be spun, one with prizes and one for money.
The prize wheel had the famous bag of crap which the room values at 100.00....

He also said they had a TON of good prizes they absolutely had to get rid of.

I know I'm playing at 3 am on a Tuesday for a shot at "swag."

Sheesz, wish this room got hit with some SERIOUS completion to force them to quit being so idiotic.

Well if those are the only prizes and they are evenly distributed on the wheel (two admittedly pretty big assumptions, especially the second one imo), then some quick, conservative math has this promo at over $50/hour in EV. I'll believe it when I see the wheel...but I don't see too much reason to complain just yet.

The way the flyer reads, I believe you can. It talks about making sure you verify your hours on the kiosk, and that you must spin by 2pm.

You should have been here back in the silly days of FL poker (insert comment here about it still being silly), around 2001 or so. Tournaments were limited to $45 and were $32+$13. 2,000 starting chips at 25/50 (at some places, 50/100). 10 minute levels. I remember many times being the button and never paying a 50BB. It was always 100 by the time it got to me. Good times.

If you replace all the swag in that pic with buffets, I wouldn't mind that. Swag pack is really awful though. Effective value of zero.

We stopped at the same lvl as Day 1 with 23 people.
1st pays like 44k, and 36 pays like 1kish.

Chip leader is around 350k ands short stack for our day is 68k I think
I have about 114k and looking to double up.
