I think there's some confusion here. It's not a satellite into another satellite. The 80 hours gets you an entry into a satellite; make the top 10% of entries in that, and you're in the WPT main event.

Still a lousy promo, IMO for 80 hours of play. But it's not as bad as a satty into a satty.

2+2’ers – Just to clear up any confusion, the November promotion gives the first 450 players who accumulate 80 hours of live action play registered by the Bravo system from November 1st through 27th a transferable voucher into one of the three Satellites being held on November 29, 30, and December 1. The top 10% of each of the satellites (with a minimum of 10 per satellite) win entry into the $2250 Championship Event for our WPT Winter Poker Open regional series, starting on December 9. Tickets are on sale for the three satellites as well as the seven Winter Poker Open events at the Poker Room Cage. ~ Jack

it is 1st who accumulate or 1st to actually pick up their ticket? I have 80 hrs already but haven't picked up the actual ticket yet...

I've heard that once you get your 80 hours you should register immediately to make sure you get a seat in the satty before they fill up.

Well, its possible that the particular day you want might sell out if you don't.
But since 450 people will qualify(most likely) and 150 max promo winners per satellite(3 different days), then there will be a spot for all who qualify.

I picked up my voucher yesterday and had to specify which day I wanted and the voucher is still transferable if I wanted to until I actually turn it in to the cage and get my seat assignment.

I am 99% sure that it doesn't matter when you pick up your voucher and only matters if your the 1st 450 to qualify.
If you already qualified tho just pick up voucher to play it safe.

Jack of Rock, thank you for your response! Although the 2P2 posters are only a few dozen or so in numbers, they seem to represent a fairly large swath of overall players' sentiments regarding THR. Although there may be thousands of "unique" players at THR, the grinders which are the predominant force on this board are your best and most active customers by a long shot.

From a constructive standpoint, I also believe that many of us view THR as a good room that could be truly great and, importantly from your standpoint, very profitable over the long-term (I realize it's probably already profitable, but long-term is the key).

I for one am looking forward to hearing more from you, good luck!

Any indications as to how many people have earned their tourney vouchers for the month, are they close to 450?

Does anyone know if it is possible to view my hours logged online?
Also what is the likelihood of the Winter Open tournaments gettign sold out? Should I be buying my seats now for the $200s that Ron talked me into playing?

lol, I would buy your $200 tournament asap as it will sell out for sure and you don't want to stand in line the day of tournament only to watch it sell out.

The other tournaments we will have to wait and see if they sell out.
I highly doubt the main event will sell out 700 seats with only 40 min. blinds but I could be wrong.

You can't view your hours or comp info online.

I was only #22 that had picked up my voucher for the Tuesday satellite.
There could be equal or higher numbers for the other 2 days and could be some people that have not picked up vouchers yet.

Word is that is should be very close to the 450 by nov. 27th which is the last day to qualify.

While that makes sense, and probably correct, I was actually told by a supervisor a few days ago that it is the first 450 people who pick up the vouchers after getting to 80. So I don't know which way is correct.

They could look at is as the first 450 who earn it get it, and if any on those people decide not pick up their vouchers, then they just give out fewer than 450.

Or the other could be the first 450 vouchers claimed, so that all 450 are given out. That doesn't exactly match with the wording of the promotion, but that was definitely what the supervisor told me.

I asked again today and its the 1st 450 to get the hours. Doesn't matter when you pick it up except for picking your day to play.

Jack of Rock we do appreciate it you and the poker manager being involved but as you can see you have to be more active in the forum for the players opinions, rants, concerns, etc to be heard and possibly changed for the better. That is just my opinion as I know I receive feedback daily sometimes weekly from other rooms in regards to upcoming promotions, series, game spread, new rules ,etc...I really enjoy know every facet of the room that I like to enjoy on a weekly basis.

See this would be a perfect question for "jack of the rock" or Pooh-bah i guess since he is on here daily and usually has all the answers...

ATTN: Jack of Rock

When you have a shorthanded must move table and a full main game...why do you move tables from the short table and break up the game?

I don't know any other poker rooms that do this.

WPT hits Hard Rock Tampa in December
November 22, 2011, Chris

Central Florida players have been waiting an eternity for their chance to play for a World Poker Tour title in their back yard, and that time has arrived. Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa will host the WPT Winter Poker Open regional series, which will run Dec. 2-11. This is the WPT’s first visit to Tampa since its inception in 2002.

The series includes seven tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $200 to $2,250.

This series is an exciting opportunity for Central Florida players to show off their skills and take home one of the poker community’s most coveted titles.

“We are very excited to be hosting the first WPT regional series on the west coast of Florida and anticipate a sellout for all seven events,” poker room manager Henry Funke said. “A full field in our championship event (700 players) will generate a prize pool of $1.4 million.”

Hard Rock Tampa always has been a hot spot for cash games, and management has done a fine job adapting to tournaments.

“The No. 1 poker room in Central Florida for live-action poker now is the No. 1 room for the best tournament action,” Funke said. “The full schedule and event details for our WPT Winter Poker Open can be found on our website (seminolehardrocktampa.com ). Tickets for all seven events are on sale at the poker-room cage and you must buy your ticket in person.”

The WPT Winter Poker Open will be one of the most talked about events in the area and is sure to bring some necessary attention to the local poker scene.

Tks for the response Jack, but understand that you are not just serving a few dozen people who participant on this forum, but giving an idea of what the room is like to the masses who come to this forum for infomation.

This thread has had almost 200,000 views and with the internet being the internet, lets just say only 100,000 of them are legit. That's 100,000 people that have came to this thread to get information or a feel on how the room is. The regular posters here for better or worst is how people get an idea on what the room is like since they are not going to read every post here. People can be easily turned on or off by how we perceive a room since we have the everyday knowledge and interactions on whats going on there. A wrong or right move could be a 1-5% lose of potential(meaning they choose not to come) or increase in business based on that original 100K number in lets say a year.

Just something to consider when dealing with 2+2.

Hi, Jack. I, and a number of others, have expressed sentiments that they would like to see the buy-ins for the $1-2 NL changed to something more like $80-$200. Either that, or implementing that structure as a bridge game between the present $1-3 NL (with min. buy-in bumped up to $150) and the current entry-level $1-2 NL structure for those who are likely mesmerized by the thought of going all-in over and over again with $100 or less. This would mean more options for players of varying priorities and bankrolls.

Start providing options for decent Stud games. For example, $5-10 with a $.50 ante and $2 bring-in would almost certainly get some attention from former Stud players. And it's likely a lot of pots would be able to max out the rake for the casino, as well.

And the Pot-Limit games... it's really amazing that different dealers, supervisors, and regular players have various differing theories as to how the pot is supposed to be calculated. PLEASE, settle on ONE set of calculations for determining a pot-sized bet, and put in on paper SOMEWHERE for all the supervisors, dealers and players to be able to reference.
