So Im thinking of leaving the Bay Area and grinding limit at capitol and 1/3 at TV.

Someone recently told me that there is an hrly wage of like $25 that capitol will pay you to play there??

Any truth to this?

Do not move away from the Bay Area strictly for poker -- If you can't make decent money in the Bay, you might as well just stop playing.

I am a huge donk and I am able to make a bankroll playing at bay 101 and casino matrix. There is so much action there. Capital's 2/5 is a frickin propfest and TV is only good certain days and times.

I would be really surprised if Thunder had the best games in NorCal, Lucky Chances/Bay101/M8trix have got to be at least as good if not much better. Theres not nearly as much money here as there is in the Bay

You're fairly certain the best games in NorCal are in a place you've never been, and ur from the Bay yet you've never played in San Jose? Maybe you should just try San Jose 1st before moving 100 miles away?

Phoenix poker room closed Monday. 21 and Pai Gow still going for now. Dealers were told they can re-apply when the combined room (with LD) opens. I understand that will be somewhere on Antelope in CS, site of a former gym(?) Guy who told me this also said Phil Gordon or his BIL is one of the investors in the combined room.

I confirmed the following with the floor at TV the other day, is this a common rule in B/M?

In cash games, if a player folds to a bet at showdown, the bettor is allowed to be shown his hand. The player who tried to invoke the rule at my 1/3 table was pretty much shouted down and gave up the attempt. Young dealer said bettor had the right to see the hand and kind of assholishly (imo) told us he wasn't going to argue with us about it. That's when I asked the floor person, though I would have felt more confident if it had been the tall thin guy, believe named Manuel, who is usually there days, or Marisol (mmmmm), i.e. one of the two who I feel know what they're talking about.

I've never heard of this and feel like I've had my head under a rock for years.

Sorry - I should have said 'caller' at showdown folds. I've been playing live for years and was unaware of this, I feel like an idiot.

Thanks - and btw if I had regular access to SJ rooms I would rarely play in Sac. Haven't played at Matrix yet, but 101 is a very good room imo.

Yeah I guess that's why it's called 'showdown' jeebus it sucks to get old and senile - though all the other players at this table told unpopular old regular to go **** himself, if the caller wanted to muck his hand let him. I know the reg from LD, he's one of the complaining types and not popular with dealers or players.

TV has horrible rules, dealers are inconsistent, and rulings from floor are inconsistent. There is no way I'd move from SF to Sac for poker. That's just ******ed. Yeah Capitol is full of props. They spread a horrible 5/10 game like 6 nights a week. But I can't really imagine that game continuing for very long.
They get 2/5 on occasion. It's only 1 game and it doesn't last for very long. Usually breaks after a few hrs.

I guess you could play 2/5 at TV everyday. But that's about it. There's just not much consistent action where you can just go grind everyday and there will be games running like you can in Bay 101 and LA.

The strict line-rule enforcement at TV is a real PIA.

Looks like CR's proposed new location is drawing some pretty serious NIMBY ire from a few neighbors... a recent community meeting did not go too well.

Quote:
"Bob Slobe... found his name on the Sacramento jail log after he was arrested and accused of threatening opponent and casino consultant Bob Thomas.

“‘I will burn your house down’ were the words,” Sacramento Police Officer Michele Gigante said Tuesday. “‘I will burn your house down,’ and he said that twice.”

1/2 at casino royale is ******ed soft. You can buy in up to $400. I'd say that's your best bet in Sac.

Pretty sure the cap on the 1/2 game at Royale is only $200. The minimum is $40 and they allow short buys for less than the minimum. I saw a guy rebuy into that game for $8 once lol, and the game is usually pretty ****ty unless u get a couple of the 2/5 players at the same table to gambol it up.

I can't stand playing their 1/2 game. It's tough to play actual poker when people will only buy in for $40 or maybe $100 if you're lucky. The average stack there most of the time is less than $100.

Plus, who wants to play in a room where it's OK if you cheat?

I don't know, I've played the 1/2 game a few times and imo I think it's a pretty brainless game and just about every single person playing it is absolutely clueless. And now that they've raised the limits to 400 the game is a lot better.

I don't care about the guys buying in for 40-80 and you can't "play poker" with them. Let them do it, they are usually the worst ones in the game.

I see those guys with 40 limp calling J8o UTG for like 1/4 of their stack PF and check folding if they miss and going broke w/ any pair. Over and over and over again.
