I would have zero interest in selling action to a 220 mtt.I dont like to travel long distances to play donkaments to often as the baknroll isnt fat but i play between 2-4 1k+ plus tourneys a year so id consider those higher mid stakes.the only time ive sold action is to a few close poker friends pre black friday and they were to higher stakes cash games, never have sold action on 2+2.

Ya I get that. I know what you meant, but that still is not what the marketplace is for.

The marketplace is not for selling action to tourneys? I'm confused. Or you mean small tourneys. And I wasn't really meaning that either.

I meant if he was looking to play $200-$300 tourneys that occur regularly maybe he could set up something longer term than just one tourney.

And I see guys selling packages for $200-$300 tourney series all the time. Some even lower than that. So I don't really get where you are coming from.

I thought you meant selling action for just that tourney, seeing how you didn't specify drawing up a package. Guess it was just a misunderstanding. However, I don't think a package featuring a super small $200 tournament that pays no more than $3k to the winner would generate much, if any interest in the marketplace. Feel free to prove me wrong though!

Thinking about relocating to Sacramento or Reno. How's the PLO cash action in either city? Would want to be a reg in a game that gets off at least twice a week where the average stack is $1k-$3k. Thanks for any help

Unless you're coming here for some non-poker reason, DON'T. The action here is horrible.

LA or Vegas is much better. They got PLO you're looking for at Hawaiian Gardens and at the Bike.

There's good action in Sacramento, it's just not as consistent as larger cities and maybe it's a bit tougher to find. The good games here are ridiculously good though.

If you're looking for PLO, Royale on Mondays is the best game you will find. There is good PLO action in Napa also.

Thanks, all - I'd have another reason to relocate, but poker considerations are an important part of my decision-making right now

Funny I think you're trying to be sarcastic, but it's actually not too far from reality. If you're a 2/5 player you can find enough games. Mostly at TV and at Royale on Tuesdays from what I've heard. There's the 5/10 game at Capitol I know that runs regularly, but the avg stack is like $800 and they play nitty. This guy tank called me with KK when I 4 bet shoved aipf with QQ for 50bb. Lol.

Played $220 at the Royale today, 87 runners, I busted twice in 4 hands, I felt like I took a time machine back to 2002, can someone please reteach me how to play these local donkaments? Like what does the 11x raise mean? Standard open is 5x. What does it mean when they call 2bet, then call 3 bet for 80% of there stack, then shove K52 flop? Was he ever folding?

11x means "I have jacks" more often than not because everyone hates pocket jacks and they just want to win it preflop.

I play pretty tight until the average stack size drops and I can pressure opponents into folding. However, with the small buy-in, many people just won't fold no matter what. They're fine going broke with 2nd pair no kicker. It just depends on the player.

How much does that normally pay to the winner?

Also it looks like Capitol is having a $550 deepstack tournament this Saturday, any idea of how many runners it should get or how much 1st normally is?

Long time board lurker first time poster. I live in no mans land in norcal so I either travel to bay or sac to get any kind of action because there is nothing around my residence that spreads a 5-10 which is what I am looking for. I started playing in sac around 4-5 months ago and checked out most of the rooms but unfortunately CC is the only place that spreads a 5-10 mon-fri.

The positives of CC is that is a nice room that has competent dealers and floor and they take care of their 5-10 players with food comps and the host (Nichole) does a great job. The game doesn't start until around 5 so I always made the trek up to sac a few hours early and played 2-5 until the spread the 5-10.

The negatives are the games player pool is extremely small and the lineup is almost the same on most days. In most cases that is not a bad thing but the manner in how the game is played borders on all out collusion. Depending on the day you will have anywhere from 3-6 guys who do not bet against each other in heads up pots. The amount of checked down pots is absurd and nobody seems bothered by it so it is obviously commonplace. All the regs who check it down with eachother are competent players but not real strong players except for a guy everyone calls "the mailman". He is a good thinking player and although I overheard someone saying he is a prop there I don't think he is because he comes and goes as he pleases and never gets picked up either. So on any given day you will generally have half the table playing together picking on a few weak spots. Over the course of my months playing there the game has gotten worse and worse and breaks pretty earlier because they have either busted the live ones or they are playing elsewhere. I have been able to beat the game overall at CC but have been playing almost primarily at LC and matrix now even though the drive is a little longer. The action is much much better there and the game is a clean one which cannot be said about CC. Hopefully the action will pick up and maybe the game will clean up at CC but until then I will be commuting westward bound.

The fact is there just isn't a big enough player pool in Sac right now to run a good 5/10 Monday-Friday. I really don't like playing the CC game most of the time for the same reasons you stated. I wouldn't go so far as to say that anyone is cheating or anything, it's just that small group of regs knows each other so well, are friends off the felt, and have played for so long that they just avoid each other for the most part which ruins the game because that group just collectively picks off the fish and stay away from each other. The best 5/10 games in town most of the time are the ones that run at Thunder Valley on the weekends, random cardrooms that spread them here and there, and occasionally CC will have good games depending on who is in town or if multiple fish with deeper pockets decide to swing by and play. Unfortunately right now due to the ****ty economy the best games in Sacramento are usually 2/5 games.

Wow I can't believe you even stuck it out for a few months. I was done after a few days. I guess they don't care because most of them are props so they are fine with just sitting there and collecting an hourly and checking every hand down. Waiting for the occasional fish to donate money. Not knowing that they are poisoning their own game.

Sac regs should be happy mr spyu doesn't like the action in sac because he's definitely one of the best live regs I've come across in the short amount of time I played w/ him.

Attention Casino Royale tournament players:

You should know that there is some shady behavior going on there. Recently, tournament chips started to go missing, only to be returned a day or two later. The staff noticed immediately what was happening and began to document it. This behavior continued and the staff started to compare player registration lists in an effort to find the cheat. Eventually the cheat was uncovered and the staff began to carefully watch him on camera until they caught him removing chips from the table. Very soon he was.

The player was confronted with the evidence, confessed to what he was doing, and was immediately 86'd from the property. This is where the story should end. However, the player pled his case to the owner and he was reinstated. This player continues to regularly play in the tournament. I know him and if you've played more than a handful of tournaments there, you undoubtedly know him too.

I contacted the ownership of Casino Royale and they denied everything. They claimed that there was never any direct evidence of cheating which is an absolute lie. The amount of chips removed and returned, the dates of these occurrences, and the video surveillance all show without a doubt that this player intentionally removed chips from one tournament and returned them to a later tournament when it was advantageous for him. As far as I know, this behavior still continues to this day.

I will not play there again. I will not support a cardroom where cheating is condoned.

It's too bad because their monthly $220 buy-in was softer than warm cream cheese.
