Back in March I registered for the $385 event at 3pm the day before it ran and I got one of the last 5 seats.

5/10 NL hasn't been spread at Royale since before the WSOP started, though I have seen several regular 5/10 players sitting in the PLO game on Mondays. Not sure about Thursday nights, as I am not at CR. On other nights of the week, Royale has been hosting a 2/5 NL game with pretty good action and fairly deep stacks. But I do believe PLO is the future of big-bet poker: more action, more gamble & more fish. The PLO games at CR have been packed with all three.

When 5/10 NL goes, the buy-in is $300 to $1,500 at the start, though this occasionally becomes a minimum $1,000 if certain persons are playing. One may buy-in up to the largest stack afterwards.

the 2/5 game at Royale is generally the best NLHE game in town when it runs

Oh thanks for the info, but I was referring to someone who mentioned that the games at TV had been great as of late.

Im playing hoping for a big turn out. With 2 day 1's and re-buy( if available) and re-entry we should see a field of 400+ easily. Field would of prbably been bigger had they done day 1A and 1B on sat +sun.

I actually like that they did day 1 on Fri. I might actually play it now.

Ya weekend warriors have to go back to monday, people might skip a tournament if it means they would have to miss a day of work to play it.

How were the 5/10 games? I saw on Bravo there were 3 or 4 going at one point which seems like a lot when there usually is one or none.

idk but there was a plo game going, i called the phones like 3 times to try and see how full the table was, no one answered, drove my ass there and game obv breaks right as i arrive, the folks at TV need someone to come in and shape that place up, im reminded of why i do not like to go there, 10 handed games, terrible dealers, smokey casino, etc

Yeah not likely it will happen soon. Seems like the casino could care less about poker. They are probably under funded which is why they suck and their floor people are also the chip runners and janitors.

+1. They need someone that knows how to run a poker room.

Despite the lack of that and outrageous fees to boot, they are still hella busy! Everyone hates TV but everyone still plays there! I Guess it's like that ex that treats you like crap but you can't get away from her for some reason! I get it but it's still annoying!

Just wondering, does anybody think there would be a market for Crazy Pineapple in Sacramento? What about a CP tournament?

I think there were 460 or 480 total. 1st place was 40k i believe. I left the casino when there were 20 or just under people left. They said they were gonna have another series in Nov with another 100k gtd.

As for the casino, it isnt well run but theres a lot of action there. As for the smokey part, it is way too smokey. I played the $125 today and after about 4-5 hrs, the smoke is in my body and prolly killing years off my life. If you're not a smoker and hate the smoke, i wouldnt recommend going there. Or at least to not regularly go there. For the people that go there often and dont smoke, they prolly have gotten used to it or might not think its that bad. But if uve gone after a long time, it sucks and i think its getting worse month by month. Not going back until they make some changes. The not so great dealers look great compared to how bad its smokey there. End of rant.

I agree here. I play at thunder valley at least every weekend but usually play 4-6 hour sessions. Ive never been a fan of grinding 12 hour sessions. I was playing deep into day 1A of the tournament and after about 10 hours of play i started to get a real bad headache. After i busted and walked to my car my headache instantly went away after 5 minutes. I contribute that to breathing all that smoke for 11 hours.

That's what it said on Bravo. I figured it was because of the tournament.

I was at Limelight the other day and they are running a promotion where if you play 3 hours you get 30 bucks. Several players at my table got the money while I was there, although I didnt because I had to leave early. Apparently, this promo is only for a limited time.

I thought the extra 30 at limelight was if you started the first game of the day. Didn't think they were running this all the time.
