lol... i don't care if they add antes or not... i simply pointed out that casinos in general don't really care about tournaments! get your sh*t together and troll someone else. people may actually take you seriously if you learn to grammar!

Personally I would prefer TV add a 400/800 level than antes. To go straight from 300/600 to 500/1000 sucks.

Played at Cordova for the first time tonight.

Only game going was a 1/3 NL, 300 max or highest at the table.

There were so many promotions, it's hard to keep track of them all.

Player's card gets you $2 per hour.

Super jackpot is 4 8s beaten - base is 100k (currently at 143k).

Small jackpot is Aces over Jacks beaten - base is 3k (just hit today, around 10k)

Aces cracked gets to spin this wheel - Average appears to be $50 or $60. However, there is an opportunity for 25k on the wheel (which someone actually did a few days ago - the chances are something like 1/3600.) It also appears that during certain times of the day/week, Ks cracked also spin the wheel.

Any straight or higher (both cards play) gets a "ticket." They do a drawing for the tickets I believe thrice a day. BJ/Paigow/Baccarat players also get tickets (I don't know how.) Winners get to spin the wheel.

4 of a kind (with pocket pair) gets $50, straight flush $100, royal flush $150.

Highest full house gets $50 to $150 (depending on this weird board) thrice per day.

Game was good, not great. There were at least 2 props in the game. Rake was 4+1, but with 6 players we were able to get 2+1.

Not at that time b/c it was slow due to father's day. Some of the players tried to turn it into a 2/5 game and they definitely have had 2/5 games on other occasions.

They always seem to be slow there, it seems games don't start until 5PM weekdays.

This Saturday at 6pm at Casino Royale is their customer appreciation party. Free food, lots of drunks, should be some great games. They're also opening baccarat that night.

I was at TVCR this afternoon, and talked to Ben after the 500pm drawing. He said he would certainly look to add antes to both weekend tournaments. Now- the deepstack that runs once a month on Sundays DOES have antes. This is the tournament that had the price reduction from 500.00 to 250.00. It is still a deepstack, and antes start at level five. All the structures for all tournaments are in a pamphlet at the desk. He will certainly look to add antes to the other large buy-ins as soon as possible. That being said, it won't happen for the foreseeable future since he has all these pamphlets printed, with schedules for the rest of the year.
I appreciated his time and response, and added that he recieved a gracious and well-written e-mail from someone named Teri, on this same subject.
So, TV now knows what some of the better players from 2+2 want in the weekend MTTs.
Personally, I asked him about satellites for a chance to revive the 500 MTT. He said that is still possible to do, but with the approval he got to drop the MTT from 500 to 250, he is loath to make any more major changes, seeking approoval from the higher-ups, and with the fact that all their printed matter is stockpiled for the rest of the year.
Finally, Ben indicated that the daily m-f MTT is pretty much going to stay the way it is. Some folks had asked to make the blind levels 20 minutes, add to stacks, maybe have antes to that., etc. He and TV think that the daily is in line with others in the area, and that the people that show up sort of like it the way it is, majority wise. It is hard to argue with any of his numbers. I do agree with him that most of the weekday MTT enterants are looking for a turbo, cheapo, chance to cash in for short money. Heck, they chopped it today I think 9-ways. At least that was the chop value I saw from tble 9 when they all got up to get their 300 dollars.
Now, I pretty much paraphrased the above, since we chatted for at least 10 minutes. But one thing I';ll quote Ben is- " we always want to know what all our customers want, and need to know that so we can keep making improvements".

Keep cool ya'all....

when it was $500 they did run sit n go satellites but they almost never got 10 people to all get together at once to get it going. They had a dedicated table in the back just for this.

Agree, and we talked about it. The one fact that wasn't good, IMO, was that the satellite winner was given the 500 cash, and not compelled to enter the MTT. So it was a glorified SNG. TV was probably having growing pains at the time, and was trying to keep everyone happy. which cannot be done.

I'm just starting to play poker again so sorry if this is a dumb question.

I keep hearing about "Nicole's game" everywhere I go, and I just smile and nod. I know they're referring to the 5/10 game, but why is it called "Nicole's game"?

Im "Tery" and yea I sent an email to revise the current structure. I proposed a smooth structure without antes and feel like that would be a start. The main problem with their current structure for the daily and weekend tournaments is going from 500/1000 to 1000/2000. Someone also said 300/600 to 500/1000 is bad and should include 400/800.

I got an email back saying the current structure is what the players wanted. And he will look to change it for the 2012 year. So don't think anything will change soon. But you never know.

Thank you for doing that, any improvement of that structure is a good thing. Sucks that they won't fix the rest for awhile but this is still very good news. Makes sense that it would cost more to Print new structure sheets than they would make by adding antes.

Thanks Ben for listening to the players!

The daily M-F tournament's problem has nothing to do with antes or blind structure, but rather rake structure. $30+$10 or $45+$15 is ridiculous and very hard to overcome. No poker player should play a tournament where 25% of the buy in goes to the house.

You shouldn't care about games U know u shouldn't be playing in n e way. Go play craps.

U r bitching about a game that is -ev no matter what. Let's also talk about how blackjack isn't fair. Or that spinny wheel, ball game. If U know U can't beat the rake, then don't play. But don't play then bitch about the unbeatable structure.
