Does anyone know if management from TV reads this forum? I have to say their 2/5 5/5 5/T situation just sucks. I decide to play there tonight and see that there is a list of 2/5 and 5/5 each with about 15 names each, some are on both lists. The 5/T has about 10 names some are on all three.

I place my name on the list, and proceed to wait for 90 min before getting a seat. Meanwhile, I see 5 table with dealers sitting waiting for a game to be called down. WTF!?!?!?!?

Ask the floor why they won't open any new games with that many names and he tells me some names are call ins. Okay, board check...? Or how about placing times next to those who have called in and calling down the game. Apparently, they think calling down these games will ruin other NL games already running. Huh?

Also, what's up with trying to spread 2/5 $100-$500 and a 5/5 $300-$1000. It seems to me a single $5bb game with a larger spread would be better. $200- $1000. Three games, 1/3,2/5, and 5/T would be easier to manage than 4 given the player pool. IMO.

Other than that, I thought the games were good and the staff competent. Looking forward to coming back!

they do skim these forums from time to time. It is a holiday weekend. Probably very busy. Probably have 300 in the tournament tomorrow.

Lots of debate over the NL offerings at thunder. At least they have games going every day.

I'm not a cash game specialist so probably can't say much more than that on the subject. I'm just a beginner.

Yes it was busy, but they had at least 5 dealers sitting at empty tables with cards fanned waiting. To me that just didnt compute. On the flip side the two cocktail waitresses working the floor were really easy on the eyes!

Yes, at least one of the floor managers read this forum- we've had conversations about such and such on here. Forum guidelines prevent identifying anyone by name, etc, but they do read it.
I would also encourage the OP to approach the room manager in person. You can easily find his name on the top of the Bravo app. On at least three occasions, we have had in depth talks about stuff over the years, and I got a sense of stuff that was in the works from his perspective, and he listened to my input, from a customer perspective.

Believe me, I'm not a shill or a fanboy for the place. I do play there when I'm in town. My work takes me all over, and I play in maybe 50 poker rooms a year. Just for fun, lodging and good food, as a hobby and not as a pro or grinder. And the folks at TV that I've talked to are as approachable as anyone I encounter anywhere, from Florida to Maine to Oregon. (purposely omitting LA)

Couldn't agree more with this. They definitely read this forum because I've heard complaints there about people complaining here.

I've tried to get a handful of regs to go up there either early on a Friday/Saturday or on an off day to discuss this issue with the Poker Room Director but haven't been able to get anybody to commit. I would do it myself but I'm afraid that my arguments might be overlooked if it's just me alone rather than a group of people.

The strange thing is that for awhile it was even worse than it is now. 5/10 has been running more consistently on the weekends again which is good news, but there was a ~6 week period where the 5/10 didn't run at all which scared the crap out of me.

I think the reason 5/5 was implemented was to gauge the level of interest of players that normally play 2/5 but want to buy in deeper. At this point you can comfortably say that there are plenty of people that want to play a $5 big blind game for $1000 but still may not be comfortable at 5/10. Splitting that player pool between 2 stakes is a bad idea and will not be sustainable long term.

Myself, and many other regulars, casual players, dealers, and even some floor men all agree with your assessment that 5/5 should be abolished and the 2/5 limits should be raised to $200-$1000.

That way all of that $$$ stays in the same player pool which makes the games healthier, and anybody that wants to play bigger has more incentive to play 5/10, which will make the 5/10 stronger as well.

Not surprised. Another record broken. Now they will get to work on how to get 500/day through a tournament. I see 1,500 player fields for a 3 flight weekend tournament in the future! NorCal is spoiled.

A ton of them! As the tournament tables broke, they seemed to get replaced with live games.

One Limit 4/8 Omaha Hi-Lo game on Friday and Saturday nights, starting sometime between 7 and 9pm, during the summer. Game will break sometime between midnight and 4am.

Once high school football starts in mid-September, the poker action at Thunder Valley thins out. October traffic is only about 2/3 of August traffic.

I know. I was just giving Steve a shout because he posts ITT regularly, but your right JC deserves his props as well.
