I've been meaning to make it down for one of these Saturday tournaments- nice to see it gets a decent amount. Sounds like it isn't a shove fest for awhile?

I busted at 515 and it wasn't a shove fest yet. Some people were shoving like 20 bigs but it wasn't like you have to play push fold poker at that point

and they each got like $5,400.

oficial payouts were: (from what i can remember) 1. = $10,900 2. = $5,300 3. ~ $4,500

I know at least one of the other final 3 was a 2+2'er and a nice guy. It was a fun day - won almost all my races, made some timely bluffs, and some good lay downs. no complaints here. good structure - will play again
nice score, congrats

They skip a few levels but still a good tourney with soft fields, 30 min. levels is great.

That is the worst chop in the history of chops. Wow.

Sometimes there are reasons for chopping besides what ICM says is correct. Anyone who knows me understands my reasoning perfectly and agrees with me 100% but from an outsiders perspective I can see why this chop looks stupid.

Keep in mind I'm not an ICM master like all of the wizards in this thread who for some mysterious reason don't play anymore, but taking >2nd place money when I could easily bust in 3rd and get >1k$ less seemed pretty solid given the fact I was playing a 15bb stack vs another 15bb stack and a 70bb stack who was running like god. I also had multiple people waiting/railing me and my gf chewing my ear off to get back to MA. None of this factored into my decision to chop, it was just extra incentive.

Nice playing with you billybadbeat, I had fun talking with you on and off throughout the day and you seem like quite a nice guy. Sherman-ash, I am quite glad I got seated on your left and not vice-versa. Groton, didn't realize that was you when you flagged me down on break, sorry, my memory is long gone.

I wouldn't bother commenting but for the fact that you're a regular poster ITT and so I assume you're like me: don't know it all and are here to learn.

Regardless of what kind of deal you took, do you understand what it is those people don't like about it? In a "perfect world" where you didn't have distractions and weren't tired, etc., could you figure out with available tools (pen, paper, phone) how to make a better deal? You don't even have to answer, just think about it. It'll make you a better player. Good luck.

Think I might take a shot Friday. I won 1 of the 3 seats last year but that buy in was 335 or something close to that. 800 is steep in my eyes.

Rooting for Bobby!! The chop that looks awful is not as bad as it looks. The only problem is taxes which in this case is not good for first and second as they will get a tax form and be reported to the IRS. I posted in here awhile ago that you get a tax form for winning over 5K NET. (less the buy in). Looks like 2nd got the form, unless the buy in was over 400. Might be a consideration in the future.

Not to derail, but 3rd was risking $900 to win $5000. I'm never making that chop ever, and this coming from somebody who doesn't mind chopping.

I went to Foxwoods for the first time a few days ago, and it was pretty cool (first time live playing too). Does anyone know how many hours of 1-2 NL I would have to play in order to get free comped rooms to stay overnight?

I live pretty far away from the casino and cannot afford the motel stay :-/. Thanks for any information.

Looking to come up Saturday and stay until Monday morning. Have a comped room Sunday night at Two Trees, but Saturday night is the issue. Don't wanna pay $200+. Has anybody ever napped for a few hours in their car in the garage? lol. Would that be safe? Have a tinted SUV. #lifenit
