Ok, so maybe you guys can help me out with this. Was at foxwoods the other day, flop is out, one guy bets $12, young kid meaning to raise but did not verbalize it, puts out $20. What should happen here? I always thought if the amount put out was more than 50% of a min raise, then it is in fact a min raise. Dealer thinks it is a raise but some guy argues and floor comes over, rules that "in no limit that is not a raise, just a call". Never heard of this before, is this the standard at foxwoods, everywhere , or just this one floor guy?

I wouldn't mind playing stud, but I've never gotten good vibes from that crowd. It seems like they don't want any of the younger holdem players coming over to ruin their game.
i used to play only holdem now i never play hold em...all i play for cash games is omaha and stud...at the stud tables i am usually the youngest player by about 20-30 years. i found the opposite to be true about the stud crowd. i have found the stud crowd to be nicer and more fun than the hold em crowd. i feel like everyone who plays strictly hold em cash games is miserable in that room. also, being the youngest is not always a bad thing at the table...i get called down much more than others and they actually try to run me down in spots where they'd just fold to another reg, then make some skiddly 2 pair and have to call me on the end...I always wish more young people played stud...there's more betting rounds, and if some young steamshooters got in the game and we could have 2 and 3 bets on mulitple streets the pots would be lovely, and there would be fun times

Cash game is open to judgment. In Mtt that is a raise all day long. I have done that mistake upstairs and forced to raise and downstairs not forced to raise. There is a scenario that would force it in cash game, If the person behind him acts already.

The 1st one.
The 2nd one shows how many points you can cash out, and the 3rd is how much cash that would be (which is always half of the 2nd one).

Why would someone want to go out to their car for a shot of alcohol when the drinks at the poker table are free (plus the usual $1 tip)?

Don't make sense to me. I don't do it. I was just clarifying what he meant. Possibly for after they stop serving alcohol?

Yes. Cashing out is always your worst option.

If you were going to buy the food anyway. It gets more complicated if you are a cheapskate like me and don't usually spend much money on food. Then a thirty or fifty dollar meal at Foxwoods might be worth less than half it's sticker price.

Then use the points to buy gas. Or gift cards. Every other option is better than the 50% value you'd get from cashing out. Go see a show, shoot some pool. There's more to Foxwoods than just playing poker and eating at 5th street.

At the gas station. Or when you get a gift card, it's 75 points for a $50 card.

Well I had not been to a BK in at least ten years, and after I decided to grab something on my way home yesterday, it's likely I will start that trend all over again!
No line, and it took about 15 minutes through the drive-through to get my food. Hopefully they improve quickly since this was the first weekend and all new employees I am sure. However having a drive-through food place is great for when you finish a long session and just want to go, and not wait in a restaurant. Too bad it's BK, but oh well. I don't know what normal BK prices are, but I would assume they were similar to what they had at Foxwoods, some very cheap Sandwiches and Burgers.

Again, better value than what? It's difficult to answer when the question isn't clear.

Everything at Foxwoods that you can pay with cash, you can pay with points at 1:1 value, with the following exceptions:

Gaming - not allowed
Tips - not allowed (if you pay for your meal with points, you can't include the tip)
Gas and gas cards - 1.5 points per $1
Other gift cards - 1.75 points per $1
Apple products - 1.5 points per $1
Burger King - 1.5 points per $1
Cashout - 2 points per $1

Most of this list isn't found on the website, which I believe is what you're ultimately asking.

If anyone sees that I've left anything out or gotten anything wrong, feel free to comment (I think Shrine and Scorpion Bar cover must be cash?). I'll add this information to the FAQ soon.

I haven't been yet, but that fact that points are 1.5:1 tells me that the prices are normal for any BK, like with the gas.
