Im anxious to see how this will unfold... will it mean more or less comps from the marketing department or just status quo repackaged and resold to us. I also wonder if it will effect the point per hour rates for poker players and if the black card extra points perk will remain in place under the new system.
The only thing I have heard is that it's being pushed back to March. No other details

I'm not familiar with Mohegans system... Is that an improvement over Foxwoods current system or a downgrade?

Heading to the Woods in about 2 weeks on Saturday. Coming from NYC - thinking about getting there by noon. Is the room alive and kicking that early?

Thanks.

Any idea how that works? Does it work any night or only certain number of rooms available?
My whole crew is coming down on January 16th and rooms are like Saturday prices for some reason. Fortunately I booked my free room way back when and made it a suite for like $45, but now my friends are seeing rooms for like $400+ at GP. There's not even any show that night so I can't imagine whats driving the prices that night.

Yah sad man, I hope he gets help if he's struggling. Such a good guy. Obviously we don't know if he's been doing this since he's been at foxwoods, at other stops he blogs for etc. but from my experience with him, he was a very generous fun loving guy. Always letting players/buddies from the road crash in his room for periods of time during the tourney series. Pretty shocking and sad news!

To see that post you need to be friends with the person whose facebook you linked to (and I know you both are). Care to share this news with the rest of us?

Someone I followed posted this on twitter. It was posted on Facebook, but the person who posted this has it set so only his friends can see it. Hence why its cut off, but you get the gist.

Never mind. You can always count on NVG to be ahead of the game.

The way foxwoods handles tips for tourneys is awful. After coming back from the cage from a tourney win, I asked a floor where to leave tips for dealers. He told me to go to one of the tables in an empty area and I would find a box somewhere around that area. I ended up leaving without tipping at all after how shady the whole thing felt. I wasn't about to leave a significant sum of money not knowing where the hell it was going.

Doesn't foxwoods already take 3% of all tournament prize pools for the staff anyway?

Probably quickly absorbed in payroll for those tourney dealers.

I just learned the tip jar location for tournaments even exists and I've spent quite a lot of time in that poker room for the last 9 years. Tipping tournament dealers is something I didn't know how to do and now, after all this hucklebuck, I know how to and will in the future.

Yup, but unfortunately "staff" doesn't include dealers. It's a double dip of the juice.

And because of the double dipping and ambiguity of where it goes, it's a deterrent for many to actually toking the dealers.

And to think those probably meager tokes were also being pilfered, for who knows how long. Depressing.

why not just put the box next to the cage downstairs?

Probably because putting the dealer tournament toke box near where most players cash out would require common sense. Something Foxwoods lacks a great deal of...

whenever ive cashed in a tournament i just asked the cage downstairs if they would withhold something for the dealers and theyve said yes

hopefully its actually gone to the dealers lol
