Was very much looking forward to playing saturday... but pushing it back until friday based on this storm. Going with Big Whoops mindset. Waste of a Saturday to head down.

Although it would be interesting to see an empty room on a Saturday.

I remember when everyone was stuck in the January blizzard, I made my largest win at live poker ever. Sadly, I am choosing to stay home for this debacle, as people actually seem to be prepared this time.

3 games at 3 AM at 5/10 tells me that people are loading hours preparing to make an exit.

Astute reasoning there.

Is anyone else going to be brave enough to head out early this afternoon, and then try to make it back before late tonight?

Meh, I was planning on heading down early, but I'm thinking I'd rather be home to keep an eye on the house/wife/etc. The weather is gonna be much worse down at FW too, so I don't really wanna have to drive back through all that **** if it gets really nasty ahead of schedule. Sigh....lol hurricaneaments.

I considered playing and getting myself stranded there but it's probably a horrible idea.

Copy/pasted from the link I provided 2 page clicks ago.

No. I have heard some in the group wanting a pink chip game. Not sure FW will go along. Pink chip is normally spread at the Mo.

Short TR from yesterdays Woods visit: I've been to FW during two different snow storms and I've never seen the casino as affected as it was yesterday. EVERY restaurant was closed, Rainmaker and Great Cedar casinos were closed, MGM was briefly open but allegedly they lacked running water. Only food options were the buffet and Dunks, both of which had insane lines + wait times.

The wait list for 1-2 was only 23 deep but because there were only 5 or 6 tables going, it took forever for names to be called. I was able to snipe a seat in the back (under the arches, the front part of the poker room was 90% roped off). The 2/5 wait list had 90 names on it, and according to the woman at the desk the 1st name on the list had been waiting for over 90 minutes. Because FW was being powered solely by their generators, the AC was off.

They stopped serving liquor around 5 pm, and at 6pm they announced that the WHOLE casino woukld be closing at 8pm (they eventually decided to stay open but it was crazy hearing people's reactions). To make matters worse, all 4 of the hotels were being evacuated, and people were literally being kicked out of the rooms w/ security going door to door telling people to pack up regardless of how many more nights they had booked.

Damn it, that's such a good weekend to play too and I got a wedding to attend. It's just a one week affair, right?

Jesus Christ! Amazing. Someone needs to take a course in customer service.

Why stop serving alcohol? Were they not making enough money(in their eyes) to justify the expense?

Are you serious? What if the "customer" had no other place to go because they are not local. I can't believe they would just throw them out without some recommendations such as: the Armory is open or Groton HS gym is accepting refugees.
