I am a pretty honest person but if I found a ticket like that it would not even cross my mind there was a chance the original owner had a chance of getting the money and I probably would have went straight to one of the machines that cashes them.

Glad it worked out for you though dude.

I'll take that into consideration and also keep my word on a donation (thats the person I am), but to be honest I don't know jack about roulette. If I am correct you can do odd and even also, damn this would be pretty sick, and this $500 is from a portion of a free bonus slot play... but if indeed hit the roulette table, is $500 on black truly the best freeroll option?

At 1-2 there are no pros $1. To be able to buy in for $60 and hit I'd sick. I bought in for 60 and in like an hour it hit when I went to the bathroom. 480k. Believe me nobody that was there for the next 2-3 days would ever complain about $1 it was awesome! Turned $45 into over 20k so sick.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am not going to say how much I will donate, but I am donating atleast 10-20 percent.
Glad to hear you got the money back, a tiny percentage that someone in the casino would return this so you got uber lucky.

Imo you should donate the money to a local, smaller charity, There have been numerous debated about the effectiveness of charities such as UNICEF and The Red Cross because of the potentially crooked infrastructures that many impoverished nations have. Obviously any charitable donation is an admirable one, but you can ensure that your money goes directly to people in need by donating to a smaller, less well known charity.

This makes me feel so much worst cause I just stole one of these ticket slips that was just sitting on top of one of those 2 kiosk machine by the escalators in the poker room. I grabbed it when no one was looking and brought it to a machine quick before I saw it was worth only .04 cents. Screw you FW poker players jokesters!

that has been going on for years now with the tips and negotiations. it hurts the poker dealers but benefits the pit game dealers since their tips arent nearly as much

Wouldn't the charge method (time or rake) that has the highest amount coming off the table per hour be equally worse for the tight and loose player?

Easter Seals, Michael J. Fox foundation. or any local humane society. I think these are all non profit. Jimmy Fund is a good charity but I don't think they are non profit

If/when the poker dealers are separate it will help the pit dealers as well. The only ones that will get hurt are the ****ty poker dealers.

I know of a great charity that helps young women (often young mom's) who are most susceptible to getting the disease Scleroderma. The organization: The Scleroderma Foundation is located in Massachusetts. Scleroderma is an awful but thankfully rare auto-immune disease that in laymen's terms turns women's (and some men) bodies to stone. It is a painful disease which saps not only the strength of its victims but often leaves them unable to care for themselves. While this insidious disease affects their skin and ability to function as normal people, it also scars their internal organs. Most Scleroderma patients die of associated issues such as Renal Failure, COPD, other lung disease, esophageal dis-motility (usually they can't swallow properly or their spincter's won't close and allow Barret cells to escape the stomach and enter the esophagus. The starve themselves to death) of course heart disease is a regular problem as well.

Anyway, the disease usually strikes women in their child bearing years, often soon after the birth of a child which really sucks cause they can't care for their children the way you want to and the child never knows a mom who is well. The things that keep them alive kill them too (Steroids for example cause Osteoporosis)

If this sounds like HELL to you, it is. These young women often are abandoned by Husbands and even their own birth families because caring for them is very difficult and stressful. I have served on the National Board of the Scleroderma Foundation and I know this disease all to well.
If you are looking for a worthy cause this is it. BTW I will be playing in the Summer event at Mohegan and I will be donating Ten Percent of my winnings (assuming there are any) or the equivalent amount of my buy ins to the Foundation (which ever is greater.)

You can donate here: http://www.scleroderma.org/development/donate.shtm

Dealer sounded like it was pretty much finalized and going to happen, just waiting for paperwork.

I asked if like August was rough ETA and he said hopefully, so time frame might be a slight issue. But that's good news.
If it's the dealer I think it is, he is the union leader. He definitely knows his stuff on the matter. Not to mention, he's a fantastic dealer.

You know this whole "which charity to give to" question would make a good thread on its own -- maybe in the OOT forum.

Start a thread. A mod could even extract the related posts in this thread to give the new thread a start, like was done with the "my wife is cheating on me" thread.

Spoke to a dealer Friday about this and he told me that there has been no vote on dealers keeping tips and no date has been set for a vote.

Arrived there at 6:30 for quick session before I had to bounce back home. Was at the most aaaaaaamazing table. 3-4 friendly players, 3-4 fish. EZ game. Highlight of the day was calling a $65 river bet into an $90 pot w/ KQ on a J23JJ board and having it be o so god against Q8s. Everyone was teffified of me from that point on despite my desperate attempts to persuade them that it wasn't a good call, "I just suck and can't fold pretty face cards." I was able to to run roughshod over them the rest of the night +3 buyins

My buddy was playing 2/5 directly to James Woods' left and an awesome hand came up: Limped pot 6 ways AJ2 Crazian sitting on over 2k bets $45 from the BB (according to the other players at the table that was standard for him), James Woods calls from MP (he had over 2k as well). Turn is the Ac, BB bets $200, James pauses and calls. River is Ad Crazian thinks and checks, James snap goes allin complete with the waving hand motion. The BB looks super pissed and after a few seconds folds. James shows the 4c and scoops the pot. Someone at the table says "O plllllllease show me te A4." To which James' insta went into fast-talking hollywood mode and said "Yeah that's right buddy I'm hanging in there with f&$king A4 for a $200 bet, that's exactly what I was doing. Pull your head out of your a$$ and keep quiet." What was even better is the person that Woods was talking to knew he was joking and they all had a laugh about it.

I don't want to be judgmental here, but given the place (casino) and time that I lost it, do you think someone under 25 would have the respect and honesty to return something like this these days? Like I said I don't want to be judgmental at all here, as I do fall in the under 25 category and know some people that would return something like this, but honestly I think a large majority of the people I know, even under 30 would have cashed that slip ASAP and dumped it on some game. Where as I think about 98% of the people over the age of 65 or 70 would return it. Idk why I am rambling on about age's here, but it just blows my mind that someone did this and returned it, they even said if it was never claimed they did NOT want it and wanted it donated to charity. Basically, I'm not out ruling that it was someone younger but it just really made me think how people have lost respect for others over the past few decades. Partly bad parenting? Who knows....
I found a woman's 3 karat diamond earing the other day...would have been a nice bankroll for the series out iv vegas this summer, but I found the rightful owner and she gave me $20....lol $10,000 earing....andf I'm 25

I suppose in an indirect way it does, in the sense that more money coming off the table means less money available for you to win. I speaking more directly - since tighter players win fewer pots on average, they pay less rake than looser players, and likely less in rake than they would for time. And the opposite is true for loose players.
