Get used to it. I know I'm a floor person nit but I was @ fw the other day trying to get a new table started (there were 6+ of us waiting to play, with plenty of empty dealers) and the floor people were laughing between each other how annoying it was to start a new table. They acted like they were put out having to start a new must move.

There are of course some great floor people, but most of them are mailing it in as far as job performance.

^ Now that's BS. Laughing at customers who request a new game? With the new tourney area upstairs, there's clearly no problem about having enough tables. And except for busy times like weekends or special events, having enough dealers should never be a problem. So what's annoying about opening new tables?

To be perfectly honest, I've hated most (not all, don't misread me damn it) Foxwoods Floors. They just suck at customer service and aren't as helpful as they ought to be. Some of them are ridiculous rule sticklers (I was once yelled at for checking the time on my phone, "No phones at the table!"), some of them make the dumbest rulings as I'm sure a lot here can vouch for. If you floors are gonna be that way, then what the hell were you hired for?

I just strive to avoid getting in situations where they'll be involved, but for God's sake, no one should have to do that!

went to cedars for my first time, was pretty unimpressed. What is up w/ the oven dried tomatoes? Those things are on almost every entre.

2-7 Triple Draw is not on the list of games they are willing to spread at Foxwoods. I know this because I once tried to get a floor to start a 30-60 2-7 TD list of interest and she called upstairs and said the game was not approved from by the gaming commision or something like that.

Try over by Panera Bread. I am not sure if they have it but I usually see people with laptops there.

If it's really important I am 99 percent sure you can go over the Two Trees Lobby and use their's.

I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that there is wi-fi throughout the whole casino, you just have to agree to the Foxwoods terms of use bla bla bla.

Just open up your web browser inside the casino and the main page should be a foxwoods type website asking for your e-mail, this is to confirm that you agree with their terms etc, then you're good to go.

$500 min, $2000 max. Probably will be 4-5 games going on at most times. There will most likely be a 10/20 game or two going on also.

Reward-points deal sparks $6M cash grab at Foxwoods casino
‘Take the money and run’
By Thomas Grillo
Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - Updated 9 hours ago

Tough economic times have been marked in the past by runs on banks as folks desperately tried to withdraw their cash, but earlier this month a promotion at Foxwoods backfired when it sparked a run on the Connecticut casino.

Foxwoods decided to let customers redeem gamblers’ Dream Card reward points dollar for dollar up to $1,000. Normally, each reward point is worth only 50 cents.

It was such a good deal that more than 15,000 customers swarmed the casino on Sept. 18 and cashed out to the tune of $6 million, causing long lines and parking lot traffic jams - and, once they got their cash, many didn’t gamble it away. Since then, the casino has put six other dollar-for-dollar promotional dates on hold.

“Management expected people to take the cash and play it on the slot machines, but that didn’t happen,” said one longtime worker, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Another employee said, “They’re saying the promotion is postponed until they work out technical issues like long lines and parking problems, but that problem can be solved by adding staff on those days. There’s no need to postpone it indefinitely. Whoever thought up this idea got in a lot of trouble.”

Lori Potter, a Foxwoods spokeswoman, said the casino expected 5,000 customers for the Dream Point Ultimate Saturday Exchange on each of the dates through October, but more than three times that number showed up on the first day.

“The good news is we gave away millions to happy Dream Card holders,” she said. “The bad news is that we had customer service issues like really long lines, capacity limits in some areas of the casino and parking problems.”

Potter insists the promo will be rescheduled once the kinks have been worked out. “We just have to make sure that we have all of our customer service issues addressed prior to implementing the rewards exchange again so we don’t run into the same problems,” she said.

Paul Young, executive director for the Connecticut Division of Special Revenue, the agency which collects the state’s 25 percent share of slot revenues, said his staff on site at Foxwoods reported that very little of the free cash made it back into the casino.

“I knew people would take the money and run,” he said. “We’re in a recession.”

The Rev. Richard McGowan, a Boston College professor and author of “The Gambling Debate,” said he’s not surprised that gamblers walked away with the cash. “It’s a sign of the times. People are hurting,” he said.

Last month, Foxwoods reported slot revenues of $59 million, down 6 percent from $63 million a year ago.
