My text messages reveal there were 14 left at 10:27 (12 made the money, plus the bubble boy got a collection). Around 11:00 someone suggested we chop it evenly (with 11 people left) and somehow everybody actually agreed. It was ridiculous though, the average stack was about 5xBB because of the pace absolutely crawling. At some point in that tourney there's no more poker involved. At least I'll know how to attack it next time, but the nearly $1 grand we all walked away with is impossible to complain about (but for some reason I'm still haunted by the hands I played badly) Better than fourth place money for 11 people.

wow grats man. Can't beleive it took another 90 mins to get into the money, seemed like it went from 6 to 3 table in like 30-45 mins. Getting 11 people to agree on a chop is surprising too tho maybe it is common in that turbo since it's too much of a crapshoot at the final table.

Yeah, I was about 2 hours into my first session ever at Foxwoods. Nice first impression for the room.

I think her degen husband/boyfriend/whatever had just made one too many visits to the poker room to blow his money.

Trying to decide which of the $300-500 WPF games to do. It's awesome there's a bunch of them, it's a great menu. All I need is someone willing to just hand me $300-500 with no strings attached

It is more straightforward but not easier and the swings are obviously bigger. The 5/10 last I saw had long periods where the kill didn't happen and it stayed a regular game.

Does anyone know if the WPF will take place in the tournament area or in one of the ballrooms? makes a big difference in which hotel to stay in.

High Rollers is the bomb. 2 complaints that they are working on - no NFL package, something to do with the current wiring, so you're stuck with whatever's on CBS and FOX; and no alcohol until 2pm, some silly law about Tribal bowling alleys.

It's in the tournament area. Even the Main Event.

Thank you. I’ll be here all week.

However, as they say, karma’s a biatch. (Or at least, that’s what my son and his friends say.)

As it happens, I decided to blow off a little steam at 1/2 after work last night. Monday night poker is great until you answer the phone and your wife’s not-so-indoor-voice makes it crystal clear that if your degenerate fat buttocks aren’t in the dining room eating dinner with your in-laws within 15 minutes (nice trick when you live 45 minutes away) she won’t be responsible for what happens.

(Hayduke’s marital advice: Never marry a postal worker.)

Lucky for me that a little while before her call I’d managed to take down an enormous pot with quad kings. I kid you not: it happened on a hand where the pre-flop action was 2 limps, a raise, and a call to me in the small blind where I had KK. I then proceeded to let loose an explosive brain fart and min-raised. The quads hit on the flop, I checked, and two players were all-in by the time it got back to me.

Brag: I won a thousand dollar pot with quad kings.

Beat: A thousand dollars happens to be exactly how much it cost me to sleep in my own bed last night.

Henceforth, Hayduke shall be known as Flounder.

The wonder of it all.

I'm planning on checking out the $120 "Deep Stack" on Tuesday nights...I just wish they would slow down the structure a little bit. Is it really as fast as it seems like it would be?

It's faster. Way faster. 20 minute blinds? Antes in only the 4th level? No 150/300, 1/2K, 5/10K, or various other levels that they totally should have? It's honestly a very lame structure. And it's only because they don't want to do tournies, cash games are where they make most of their money.

It's so pathetic...unless you are rolled for anything $500+, it's just a damn crapshoot if you don't double or triple in the first two hours. My God, all I want in life is a well-structured live tourney...FML.

I'm gonna be down next Tues & Weds for the $400 deep stack then the shootout or LH. Then maybe a couple more on the following two weekends.

Any over/under on turn out for the non-NL tourneys like LH, 08 and HOSE?

Also anybody else think the shootout structure is crappy? Being at 12bb 40 mins in doesn't sound that appealing for $300 ... also confused on the how the final group plays. Top 3 make the finals @ 4pm then it plays like a regular tourney from there? Foxwoods info not that clear ... also guessing top 30% ain't in the money but IDK.

Top 3 from each single advance to the finals at 4pm, which is a regular multi. Your guess is wrong though, the top 33% or so of the multi make the money, since that represents top 10% of the total entrants.

Excuse me?

do you have a problem? the guy insulted my play and then made the same exact one two days later.

I get pretty sick of all the snyde comments that poker players make like they are all phil ivey or something.

and all I originally did was post some interesting hands from my session. I dunno why people had to come out and be *******s about it.

Can we keep the criticisms of play AND the strat talk confined to one of the strategy forums please? This is a good example of why it's never good to post hands even if you are not looking for advice in a B&M thread.
