I'm planning on coming down mid July, wondering if anyone got numbers on the Daily Friday $20k guarantee and if its worth playing?

Yes July 4th weekend is a great weekend for poker, just get ready for lines for everything including check ins and food, I remember waiting 4 hours for my room to be ready last year, expect the same as the hotel is fully booked.

I remember reading ITT awhile back that Wolfgang was 1=1 in comp dollars. Are things still the same or has it changed since?

Very strange, I just logged onto my borgata website and all my free rooms are gone? Must be a glitch in the website, anybody else experiencing this? I just have 5 reservations booked so that should not be the issue.

Mine still show so maybe just an error

Had a question. How long is it that your comp points can be held before they are erased if you do not use them?

I asked around and it was because I had 10 nights booked in advance, you used to put 3 months in advance, now you can only book 10 days, so if you book 5 weekends that is all you can book

Quick question regarding comps. I'm planning on coming down for two night in August, Sunday to Tuesday. Some weeks I have comped rooms, but for those two nights my rate is about $90 per night.

I'm not planning on gambling/playing poker too much since I'll be going with friends. My question is, will having a low daily point average that trip not affect my hotel room offers since I am paying for those two nights? Or should I consider buying rooms from someone for approximately the same rate so my comps don't get messed up.

Thanks.

Well, I notice after the last weekly cycle I now have most Fridays in August and September available to me at Borgata (not Water Club) as well as every Sunday-Thursday for August and September but Labour Day. No Saturdays at all, but, whatever. What surprises me is that I'm only allowed one night a week -- I would have thought two Sun-Thurs would come a lot easier than Fridays!

Yeah I'll be around if you let me stay in your room Unfortunately, my comps got reset and i no longer get weekends - Had to pull the most epic 25hr session of my life this weekend while simultaneously sleeping at Borgata poolside.. Not the most ideal weekend for me when trying to play A game... Thanks to the poker gods, I was blessed with the juiciest 4 handed 5/10 table of all time at 3am.

A clarification on comps if anyone can help me out. I get comps for playing video poker in the B bar and some roulette, but also get the free parking comps mailer from the poker room. Usually I book two comped night, drive there and park, gamble it up for 2 days, then leave the next morning and I use my free parking from the poker mailer as I leave the lot. Does using this free parking on the morning I leave kill my comp rate since I'm not doing any gambling that day?

Yes it does, anything you do after 6 AM the next morning hurts your average, checking out and using your comps may also hurt you as well, not sure about that.

Nah go ahead and book the room, just book a couple more rooms in advance so if you do get hurt, in your advance bookings you can up your average.

These sorts of questions draw definitively stated replies, but the only people who can say for sure (the My Borgata accounting trolls) won't.

To the anecdotal replies, I'll add that I've never seen any ill effect* from playing past 6am, checking out, playing a couple hours after I checked out, buying breakfast, exiting the parking lot or any of that. (I don't go and not gamble, so I have no experience there.) So yes, the daily average is important, but my experience is that with 8 or 10 or 12 hours in one day, my departure-day activities don't make a difference.

* The single exception was a day a few months ago when I played a few hours of 2-5 before I left rather than 1-2 (or occasionally 2-4/3-6). There seemed to be a slight dip in weekend availability after that, which made me wonder if it makes a difference if it's a timed game rather than raked.

whatever you do, don't listen to the above post. it's like he's purposely trying to mislead you with that pre-amble.

he's correct that no one knows the exact details/formula. but the one thing we have figured out (and was backed by Stan before he left) is it's based on your daily average.

and i have personally tested this a few times now. i got my 6 month average (it seems to me that the last 6 months or thereabouts is what they calculate... this is a guess not a fact) up to 12 hours a day at 1-2 by not playing for 6 months then playing two 12-hour days and got comped rooms offered 7 days a week. i played a single 2 hour session to drop my average and the next week i lost all fridays and saturdays. did similar cycles a twice more with same results.

the different stakes you play also makes a difference.

Thanks for the responses.

So to clarify, the daily average counts for ALL days you play on the property? Not just the days you used a free hotel room offer?
