I don't think there's enough interest for 6/12 anymore. Stan tried to spread it a couple months ago on a weekend and it didn't take off.

A pink chip HOSE game...fasten your seatbelts for that one.
It would probably turn into a 2+2 convention. I played the 4/8 HOSE game once with at least 4 other 2+2'ers, there were white chips everywhere, big stacks & lots of action. I can't even imagine playing pink chip with that crew...

5/10 game with pink chips? Sorta kidding.
Not a bad idea at all. People like seeing mountains of chips in the middle.

The live table reports I've glanced at recently seem to include 1-2 tables for 10-20 Omaha O.E. but no table for 10-20 2-way (alternating Omaha O.E. / Stud H/L). The 2-way used to be a regular game. Has this been discontinued - i.e., have players decided to do away with the stud part.

(Sorry in advance if this was discussed/decided and I missed it....)

O.E. is two way

O= Omaha
E= Stud H/L 8 or better

I know i use a lot of these poker abr. on many occasions so i must assume not everyone understands. I will give the rest just in case.

H = Hold'em
O = Omaha (could be Omaha High or Omaha H/L depending where you live.)
R = Razz (we do not play this in AC)
S = Stud
E = Stud H/L 8 or Better
LHE = Limit Hold'em
NL = No Limit
PLO = Pot Limit Omaha
1/2 Kill (When a designated pot amount is won by one player. The game limit on the next hand will go up half of the original limit. Example 10-20 will become 15-30. At the Borgata in Omaha H/L only.)
Full KIll (Same as above but the limit will double. Example 10-20 will become 20-40.

I wish it was just O8. They have spread a 10/20 O8 and a 5/10 O8 (kill pot) and I hope to start an interest list for both next Wed.

I play in this game most weekends. I will say that a decent amount of time we lose the stud half when the game gets short. Lots of people don't like playing the Stud/8 part 5 or 6 handed so if everyone agrees then it goes to an O8 game only. Many times the game will fill back up and we just seem to never add the stud back in as the action is just so much better at O8.

Example. Playing a full game last saturday. We had 5-7 people seeing flops for 3 and 4 bets. It was just a really sick game saturday night. Lots of terrible players winning as well. Guy who hardly folded a hand preflop bought in for 200 and cashed out over 1500. Game went until like 6:30am when the one really terrible player left and we were left 4 handed.

2 funny things from last weekend.
Flop comes 9 9 4

4 people see the turn for 3 bets. Sick action. 1 guy had Fours full, 2 others had a 9 and one guy was getting middled with a flush draw and drawing dead.

At 6:30am the really awful player gets up. Another player who was just as bad stands up and says "Well if he's leaving then i am outta here".

Stan,

Do you have to get Commission permission for the pink chip game? As in, is it a possibility at all for this weekend?

I have to decide if I'm going to work this weekend, and a possible pink chip game is enough to push me over to not working.

I'm not so sure a 4/8 game would take off. I think Stan tried it out a few months ago, and it lasted a weekend. 4/8 would only go if the 3/6 game is gone altogether.

Yes 5/10 as a structure stinks. I'm not surprised that the 5/10 LHE game rarely goes.

Honestly, the NL boom killed all the low/middle limit HE games, and low limit stud.

Also, the 6/12 game was very good until most of the casual players (AKA fish) started playing 1/2 NL.

IMO, a 7.50/15 'pink chip' game would probably be a huge hit at Borgata.
But, I also thought the 4/8 HOSE game would be too...
I personally would like to see a pink chip 10/20 holdem game.

Pink Chip 2/4! You just need to fill the rack with half dollars to make change!

Purely for my own curiosity, how is the Pink Chip raked? Are there some whites for change/tips? Is it time instead?

If I remember correctly, it was raked as usual. Since every pot is over $40, dealer just took out two pinks for 5 whites, and put 4 in the rake. 1 white chip in every pot to be tipped. Easy.

punkass is correct. It was a raked game, 10% up to $4. The few times I played it, we "auto-tipped" $1 for each pot. It was very rare that the pot didn't get to $40, so calculating rake was pretty easy for the dealer.

Back then, Tropicana did not have a BBJ, so with rake and tip, it was $5, easy to breakdown 2 pink chips into 5 white chips. Now with a BBJ drop, it will not be as easy to breakdown ($4 rake, $1 BBJ, $1 for a tip).

You will need to have a couple rows of white in the rack. Easiest way would be for dealer to breakdown 2 pink chips from the pot, use that for the rake/BBJ drop, and then each person would need to have a stack of whites (that do not play, of course) for tipping. Of course, the dealer could break down some pink chips for players for tipping purposes. I would recommend people do it for $20 so that that game is not being slowed down everytime some one needs $5 in whites. Or just get a stack of whites at the cage.

I always bring a full hundo of whites. This cuts down on all the fills, which will ultimately occur...

Al,

Good call. I was going to say the same thing. I wouldn't have a problem myself buying a rack of white and making change for players that need it. Whatever helps keep the game going and more hands dealt.
