The report is currently updated as of 2:10 PM. Played a couple hands(4?) of 4-8 HORSE yesterday. Seemes pretty fun, with good dealer. Pretty crazy that the game right next to us was the 50-100 HORSE.

Yes, we can spread a 7-way game as long as it is on table 12 or 13. These are the two tables that the DGE approved for our Razz test.

Fantastic, I know this is very early, but it might take a long time to get this going, I am taking my father down next SATURDAY AND SUNDAY for father's day and would love to get a 10-20 or 4-8 7-way game going. Let's get some interest ITT for either or those days.

i have a quick question for stan (or anyone else really)

how much play would i have to log to get a free room on a tuesday night? (specifically the 21st of this month)

i already have a room at the taj for wednesday 6/22 (not sure why they weren't offering me tuesday as well but w/e) and i would love to stay at the borgata as i plan to play the wednesday morning tourney

i've logged maybe 3 hours at a 10/20 game during the only other time i've played here. if i'm not going to qualify for a room at the borgata, are their other good cheap places to stay that are a little closer than the taj? trump marina maybe? does anyone know how easy it is for a taj poker player to get a room there?

i'm basically trying to figure if i should shell out for a room in advance, or if i can just wing it the night i'm there. any advice is appreciated, thanks guys

The chances of a taj poker player getting a free room at the trump marina are about zero b/c the trump marina does not exist, and its replacement, the golden nugget, does not have a poker room, weekdays it is possible to get inexpensive hotel rooms in Absecon, exit 40 GSP, also worthwhile for all new, former online (>= 21 yrs old), and players from other casinos to contact Stan, dir poker ops, @ Stanstrickland@theborgata.com lots of great promotions, see: http://www.borgatapokerblog.com/

I knew the NJ gaming enforcement was kinda nuts, but only approving a game for 2 particular tables? That is really crazy!

I saw this, and I thought that it was "interesting":

I began to watch seat 3 and sure enough he would glance at his cards as soon as they were dealt. Every time he picked his cards up off the felt by an inch or so he folded pre-flop when the action came around to him. Every time he glanced at the cards and laid them back down he entered the pot.

Based on how he handled chips and played in general it was clear that he was new to play but I thought it was bizarre that the dealer called out what appeared to be an obvious tell. The dealer told him two more times that this wasn't allowed and on the third time the floor was called and told him that if he kept doing this he would receive a penalty. At this point the player simply racked up and left.

I get that he was giving away info but no evidence of collusion whatsover - does the dealer/floor have any right to discuss this at all?
It's bad enough when players talk about what they know about the game at the table, but, when dealers start doing it...

"Hey, dealer. Let me know if you pick up any additional tells from the table."

I posted this in the original thread this came from just now, but it probably fits better in here.

If what I am reading is correct: that the player in question would CLEARLY telegraph his hand so that others at the table knew what his pre-flop action would be every time, then this is NOT absurd and this is the correct ruling.

A tell is not a telegraph. If I was sitting to the immediate left of that player, I am at a disadvantage because everyone else at the table knows that he will fold. If I am the big blind and it folds around to the button and the player (SB) telegraphs his fold, the button has an advantage over me, doesn't he?

If his behavior was such that only moderately skilled to very skilled players can read as a tell, then it would be inappropriate of the dealer to reprimand. But by doing something so obvious, he might as well have said "I'm folding" out loud, which obviously is unallowable. The dealer should be complimented on doing his job well here.

hey,

can anyone comment on the skill level/play at 2/5 NL at Borgata. I have had 18 straight winning sessions at 1/2 (hidden brag) and was thinking of moving to 2/5. is the skill level much better at 2/5? or just as bad?

please comment.
thanks

First of all, hidden brag?

Second of all, 2/5 players generally know what they are doing a little more, but the tables are still pretty soft. That's my opinion, other's may and will disagree.

At 2/5 the players are only moderately better, but with more cash on the table. The best part about 2/5 players is that they think they are much better than their play suggests. Its my favorite kind of opponent: someone who has no clue that they suck. Personally I think 2/5 tables are the most profitable NLHE games available since the talent level on 5/10 is markedly better.
