Under most rules I'm familiar with there can be no action, by definition, until the deal is completed.

That said good luck getting a floor to rule based on that if he comes over and sees a bunch of action with the BTN claiming it happened before the dealer gave him an extra card.

If you're paying attention it's almost never a problem. I had a third card dealt to me in the sb at borgata last week. Dealer thought I was button. I watched the third card coming in and just slid it back to the dealer who used it for the burn card. As long as you're paying attention floor never gets involved. 2 people had already limped. No problem at all.

Is 2-5 really getting bumped to 1k max?? This will surely kill the 5-10 game

I was paying attention...two cards were stuck together.

everything in this thread says the opposite, so I'm not really sure what your source is. also, there is no way that bumping it to $1k max would kill the 5/10.

Only if Stan says that it is.

Until then, it is not.

I thought Stan squashed this... several times on this thead. If you want a 1k max. put yourself on a 3-5 list. And that almost never runs, you may see a game or two durring the Spring Open.

I've just been hearing people talkin at tables bout 1k max, straddles, buying the button all being introduced April 1st. And the dealer confirmed this. Was trying to figure out if dealer was correct or just speculating.

From what I understand Borgata is introducing a new rulebook in April.

What exactly will be in this rulebook is of course the subject of constant rumor. I'd be skeptical of straddles and a 1k buyin at 2-5 though.

I've also heard that 3rd man walking for hold'em will be included (my previous post about 3rd man walking being implemented at 10/20 did not occur, ostensibly because it is not in the rules)

Only problem again is that the average player is not going to understand or want to play this game, and it will be the same thing as the 6 max 3/5 games, that the fish gets broke, then you have 5 nitty grinders all look at each other with a "wtf" look... and then the table breaks.
ante game sounds interesting but agree this is likely outcome

Coming down next weekend and am thinking of getting some golf in on Friday during the trip. Anyone know a nice public course in the area? I have played twisted dune in the past but I'm a higher handicap player and that course just ate me up.I will have a car and something within about 1/2 hr drive would be nice.

Anyone having problems logging into their MyBorgata Rewards online? Not sure if the system is down or something but for some I keep getting an error message.

should up the minimum at 2/5 to $200. and make all games 9-max. or at least all big bet games should be 9-max. pretty happy with everything else at Borgata

Hey Ashi could you explain to me what difference it would make changing the big bet games from 10 to 9 handed. It doesn't really make a difference to me. I'm just wondering why?

High limit games can be 9 handed for several reasons but even if a player or two gets up they will still be happy playing 6 or 7 handed. When it comes to 1-2 and 2-5, if a couple of guys get up, now its short handed and the games gets bad quick.

Your dealers believe otherwise

Plus talking to you requires I get up and miss hands, it just isn't worth it

Thanks Stan. That does annoy me. I play 1/2 and 2/5 and people really get upset when other players leave. It is very odd.

Also, I'm up at the Borgata every two weeks or so for four days at a time and I have never met you once!

You've spoken with all of Borgata's dealers about this?

Maybe you should have said:

probably for reasons better not discussed, the rumors and chatter about changes to the games have been non-stop for the last few months, and now that I try to play almost every weekend, i try to find the unicorn in the poker room as much as the new rule book, straddle, or change in the caps.

No change is good... there is no need to change any of the silly stuff...some changes are probably needed, to freshen up the place, and now that the big game has moved, perhaps we can turn the super high limit room into the first and only SNG+HU dedicated room in the country
