What are the smallest mixes they normally get going at Borgata? I've never been to AC before, but am probably going this weekend. 20/40? Do they ever get lower going?

Thanks.

Haven't been down to the Borgata since about March, haven't really had the itch to play. I can feel it coming back though.

Last time I was there I heard the dealers saying some changes were coming to the poker room, especially that they were going to move the tv's down closer to eye level. Has anything like this happened yet? Any changes at all to the room?

We had a 5/10 mix last Saturday, although it does not go often. There have also been 7.50/15 mixed games (my preference) several times on and off over the summer.

For NL tables, does the Borg have a time minimum that you have to leave a table before returning with less chips? I have heard 30 minutes in some cardrooms but wanted to see if there was any state law or casino standard.

Perhaps this has been discussed already, but what mix games have been running lately? I heard Borgata is now allowed to spread razz, so has there been any Horse games running? Also, I've seen some posts referencing some mix games I have never heard of such as QBERT. What is that exactly?

Oh and is there anywhere I can view the structure to the Fall Open events or do I have to call the poker room?

Awesome, thanks. I should be there Fri and Sat, so hopefully can get a game off then.

Does the 10/20 LHE play daily here or only on busy days?

Looking forward to taking a shot at 2/5 NLH after playing in the Fall Open. How is it during the weekdays? Is it the same atmosphere as 1/2?

I think it's 48 hours at Borgata.

Why? Are you planning on building up your stack, leaving for five minutes, and getting another table with the minimum buy in, on a regular basis?

That's what it sounds like.

Why are some people afraid to play with a big stack?

To clarify, i think it will require about 350 steps. Add or subtract 3.141519 steps for every inch you deviate from 5'9.

The atmosphere is a bit different. There are better players and more aggression. You will definitely hear less cool stories from the recreational players, but the atmosphere can still be pretty fun depending on the table.

Thanks. So Borgata is now spreading basically every game, at least in a mix game format. Nice. This would be the only place to play if I wasn't for the slippery chips that tilt me beyond belief and the random rude employees.

Borgata will spread almost any combination of games you request. I managed to get a heads up 5/10 TBR game going a couple nights ago. (At first, tried TBE, but E seemed pointless to play heads up)

Basically, on Friday or Saturday, add your name to the 5/10 or 7/15 mixed list (or start it if it hasn't been started). You can try looking for posts in this thread or posting to find other players that are interested. If they have spare tables/dealers, they will call a game upon request if you can show that it will start short.

On Saturday night, 4 posters in this thread managed to get the 5/10 game started, and it was full for a few hours.

FYI - if no room is available when you check in, you don't have to wait in line again for your room key. They can issue them at the bell desk where you check your bags.
I've stayed at borgata for 150 nights or so in the past year and a half, checking in from times ranging from 6 AM to 11 PM, and have never had to wait for a room key except for 1 time which had nothing to do with the room actually being available (and a discussion I won't have here). Never had to tip the front desk either. I would say if you show up at noon there will be a room available for you.

Another pro-tip: Check out is at 11 AM, but in reality you can stick around till 2 PM or so. This applies to other AC casinos as well. I ALWAYS check out late, and have never ever been charged for the 100+ times I've done it. Most of the time I don't bother checking out, I just take the do not disturb sign off the door (mainly as a courtesy to the maids) and leave. Usually they'll knock on your door around 12:30 asking if you're checking out today. Then I'll say I'm leaving soon, go back to sleep for another half hour, then take a shower and what not and be outta there before 2. (Keep in mind the maids don't care to hound you out of the room. They'll just move on to the next room and do yours last, which gives you plenty of time to sleep in and leave) I don't advise doing this on non-comped rooms. I have heard of people getting charged for leaving late, but only people who paid for their rooms.

+1

I do this on every visit also. All my rooms are comped, so I have no idea if it differs for comped or paid rooms, although I honestly doubt it does. Pretty sure the people that matter don't even know you're still in there, so how could they charge you?

another pro tip: while Borgata maids will knock on your door even with the DND sign (usually only on the day you checkout..) WaterClub maids will not, even on checkout day. Housekeeping will, however, call you every single ****ing day you have it up. So put it up, set the DND on the phone, and don't get woken at all.

Yes... that pisses me off at borgata, housekeeping feels the need to call you. The DND sign being on your door ALL DAY apparently doesn't make it clear that you don't want your room cleaned. I stayed in a water club room for 7 days straight once though. After the first 3 days they got the message and quit calling me. I just got extra towels and put my old towels / trash in the hall. I don't change my sheets every day at home, I think I can live with the same sheets for a few days in a hotel room.

As for getting charged, I think they are able to figure out who stayed late and what not, and it's less likely they're going to try to hit some comped player with a charge vs someone just staying at the hotel. Depending on which player card I'm staying under, if I got hit with a charge I would probably whine about it until they got rid of it. I would bet though, that people who got hit with charges took things too far and stayed till like 4 PM or something.

That's weird, I've never had the maids knock at either Water Club or Borgata with the DND sign up. They've never called me either. Also I pretty much always ask for a late check out when I'm checking into the room. Maybe that's why?

Exactly. When entering keep right and follow signs for Surface Parking & Harrah's Marina. Will ultimately lead you to the backdoor of the casino which is just steps away from the poker room.

I want to bring a party of 4 to the buffet. I know I can only use my black card for me and 1 guest at the buffet at $10 pp, but does anyone know if I can then go through the line a second time (to a different cashier) and purchase 2 more entries for "me" and a different guest? Has anyone tried this?

I never really use the phone so excuse me if this isn't intuitively obvious, but how do you set it to DND?
