Tip of the day regarding ids...State of NJ issues 2 types of driver's licenses one vertical and one horizontal. Vertical indicates under the age of 21. If your id is vertical stop at the security desk and get stamped/wrist banded to avoid delay in playing or better yet go to DMV and get the correct id and stop whining. If it is horizontal be flattered that they think you are under 30 someday you will want to be carded - trust me it will make your day!!

I usually have prop bets with my friend who gets carded the most. It's weird though, I'll either get carded by floor, every trip to the cashier, every other dealer, or I will get carded once all night. There is never a happy medium, either once or 8+ times.

I always have it ready since I know I look of borderline age. It does get annoying if a dealer cards me then the standard 60+ year old cracks the joke "Do you need to see my ID too?!" LOL! -_-

The carding is kind of out of control though, I get carded at least 6 times in a 3-4 hour session. My ID is horizontal and I am only 21 but it gets annoying especially when I am questioned while playing. I'll never forget being involved in a big pot and a floorman having the nerve to ask for my ID while I am all-in and being stared down... then being asked to turn around and look at him so he could compare my face.

Why do the security officers not carry wristbands like Showboat? I've asked for a wristband/stamp before and was told I would need to go ask at secuirty, they weren't even sure if they gave them out. It seems stupid to me that a casino would want me to step away from the table/machine to go wait in line at an unknown location to get verified for being 21. Figured a NJ liscence and players card should be enough to quickly look at and not bother again but I guess harrasing customers is a good way to do business.

Has anyone ever received a stamp/wristband before at the borgata? I've never seen one and when I ask some secuirty officers tell me to try and ask at the secuirty office but they aren't sure if they give them out.

We have a stamp in the poker room. If you feel that your are being bothered by getting carded than ask the floor to help you get a stamp. They are carding anyone who may look to young to play. It's their job, they could lose their job for letting an underaged gambler play on their table. If you look young than you may go to the security podium in the middle of the casino and get your stamp prior to gaming.

Where is this stamp because I would love to get one every time I play? I always ask and this is the first time I've received a direct answer as to where I could get stamped. The majority of security personal say they may have a wristband but they aren’t sure and they don’t know which security desk I should go to… if you’re saying there is a stamp these officers are obviously misinformed.

I expect to be carded and do not have an issue with being asked for ID but I would expect the floor/security officers to be knowledgeable and assisting in providing a stamp/wristband.

Based on Stan's answer, when you get seated at a table, and you give the floor person your Borgata card to check yourself in, you should ask to have your hand stamped. If that floor person doesn't know what you mean, ask for his manager, and be polite; it helps.

Yes please sign me up for the stamp. I don't even bother putting my ID in my wallet when I come to Borgata anymore. I also agree with the once or 8 times post. I literally expect to get carded 3 times every two hours. I never get angry and I understand why but it does get a little old after the 4th time...

I have the correct ID, it was just annoying cashing in, out, sitting at a new table, random floor person walking by ID me. If they just got a fine for underage then I understand, but any person who did ID should let the person they ID know they can get a stamp or wrist band. I figured something was up though because I have been to the borg often and only time I was ever carded was for the Winter Open tournament.

If you're under the age of 30, chances are you're getting carded.

I've seen a 32 and a 34 year old get carded at the table. I get carded at least 3 times a visit. Apparently they got caught not too long ago with a minor, so they are taking no chances. Understandable, rather be safe than sorry.

If you go to the cashier (the main one, not poker room) then go right, there is a little security booth. You can get stamped there.

You know, there are a couple more options for those who are in their early twenties:

1. You could hand your ID to every dealer, floor person, and cage employee that you have an interaction with. Some might look at it; others might just say, "No, you're okay."

2. You could wear your ID on a lanyard around your neck for easy accessibility.

The stamp is probably the best option.

Handing my ID to ever person I encounter would be odd, annoying, and awkward. And a lanyard? Really? I like looking halfway respectful not like I'm going into work .

Easiest solution is to just keep it in your pocket and have it ready. Although I'm definitely trying the wristband/stamp thing next time.

The stamp is definitely the best option. It is just a matter of finding where to get stamped. As I said and others have posted they have never been offered a stamp, once I figure out where to get it I will always go but until Stan's post I never even knew they offered a stamp and yes I have asked before.

They should card, it's the law but they should also offer an option so customers aren't constantly asked for ID's. I'm sure the stamp works great but it is important to make customers aware of this, like I said Showboat's security officers carry wristbands and if you look young after checking your ID they offer you a wristband on the spot. Not saying Borgata's officers should carry a stamp but they should at least know where to send customers to receive this stamp.

Stan, I'm taking a staycation and going to be visiting Borgata tonight. I've never been carded there, but I would love the opportunity to feel young again. So card away.

Right around the corner from the cashier (it's to the right if you're facing the cashier window) is a little booth. This is where you can get stamped.

I get IDed constantly so one time I decided to get the stamp. The thing completely rubbed off the first time I washed my hands so it was pretty useless. And I don't mean I was scrubbing at it; it just disappeared the second water touched it like at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when Indy pours the holy water on Sean Connery's wound. So if you ever see anyone with a stamp they probably have bad hygiene.

Of course were at work wasting time checking our favorite threads at 2+2. I had one consulting gig that all gambling sites were inaccessible, took me a grand total of two hours too convince the IT people that I needed full access for work reasons so I could surf away

anybody having a problem going to the borgata website, www.theborgata.com firefox wants me to download the page and IE8 shows me the source code for the page. Stan says it looks fine for him, but i think he might be on an internal network and that might affect what he sees. So i was just wondering if it's me or their site.
