Strange that the 2-5 max is 100 big bets, whilst the 5-10 is 200 big bets. A much deeper stack game.

Any thoughts to updating it?
The reason that the 5-10 NL games are short these past two weeks is because they all dropped down to play for the BBJP which is now $267K. The good news for 5-10 NL players is that once this BBJP hits they will be added to the eligible BBJP games. Thus they will not have to go down a limit to be eligible. The 2-5 is $100-$500 not $40-$500. Please look back at the live game reports from say two weeks ago, you will see that the 5-10 NL games are still doing great.

This change happened years ago. You talk as though it just happened. We still have up to 6 or 7 games on a good saturday night.

Eek! Stan must have gotten tired of all my complaining and doomswitched me

Might I just take this oppurtunity to say how much I love Stan the Man (only a close second to Stan the Man Musial) and that the Borgata is by far the greatest place on Earth!

Sorry, even when gratuitously sucking.backside I can't bring myself to say anyone is better than Musial, a lady friend of mine is a Cardinals fan...

Btw, anyone else have trouble with the coffee cup lids? I find I tend to spill a lot...

1k and you'll be short. 1.5k and you might feel comfortable but you'll still be short, usually 3 people < 1.5k. Everybody else above.

And what is "WJFK POKER TOURNAMENT"? No details on the site.

And when do you think the 2010 Winter WPT sched will be announced?

WJFK is a radio station in the DC metro area. The hosts of their morning show, The Sports Junkies (I think that's the right name), host a poker tournament @ Borgata every year called the Junkies Poker Open.

I don't want you to feel corrected, I am very shocked as to how many 5-10 players dropped to 2-5 just to play for the BBJP.

Almost completed. Unless changed, the date should be January 19 - February 4, 2010.

Stan,
Do you have any "educated guesses" as to the payouts/prizepool of the WJFK tourny on the 13th?
I've yet to visit the borg on my AC trips and I'm definitely looking to get my feet wet that weekend as i'll be in AC all weekend. Thank you sir.

I really do not like to guess but the date is the 12th.

So I am going to AC (most likely Borgata) on November 6th. Hope to stay friday night till Saturday. I hear borgata is soft but I don't know if they have any good tourneys that weekend that are less than $300.00. I usually like playing at the showboat, but does anyone have any recommendations or schedules?

Thanks

IMO, the Borgata has the best structured tourneys in AC. Others will defend the showboat because "they don't have antes" but i like them. It's a "real" poker tourney.

That being said, you're out of luck. Pretty sure all Friday and Sat tourneys are 300+ so after Borgata, Showboat and/or harrah's is prob your best option.

This changed maybe two months ago??...and IMO it sucks. I used to love to cut out of work at 2pm Friday, play the 4pm 100 + 20 tourney then head to cash games when I busted. Now it's a $350 survivor tourney.

This isn't even a gripe as I pretty much have none with the room...but if I did, that would be it.

More past dates and entries for the Junkies Tourny

11/06/06 428 Entries
04/26/07 419 Entries
11/28/07 353 Entries
05/29/08 397 Entries
11/13/08 535 Entries
05/21/09 357 Entries

This tournament has never had less than 350 runners. I hope new players will see these numbers and want to make it to the tournament on November 12th.

Thanks. I noticed that Harrah's had some lower buy in tourneys however what are their poker rooms like? I hear borgata is super juicy and the last time i went i was this nooby donking off money.

As far as I'm concerned, Borgata is superior in every way for cash games and most daily tourneys......but If you are looking for sub $300 tourneys on a Fri or Sat, it's not the place to be.

Harrah's is next door. You can hit that for a tourney then go to The B for cash games.

So. Many. 3-6 tables.

I drove down on Tuesday. I might have to drive down again tomorrow. The low stakes games are always good, but the jackpot is really bringing out the best kind of players for those of us grinding it out on the low end.

So what is the rationale for having buttons marked "First seat change" "Second seat change"? I can't imagine it will be long before they all disappear. What happens when two people have first buttons?
