This x100. I get carded all the time at B. I've mentioned this before. I'm ok with it cause I DO look young. I get stamped now so avoid this problem. In the middle of a hand this morning I have a floor man come across the room and ask for my ID. I show him my hand and goes "whats that?" so I just roll my eyes and show him my ID. Action gets around to me and I'm tapped on the back and made to turn around so he can check the picture. I do this and then call the bet. Action goes around the table again and this time when the action is one player infront of me I start getting quized about my address and the game is slowed up as I have to catch up on the action and figure out my move since I was too busy grilled in the middle of hand.

I have no problem with the ID policy and being safe but interrupting a player several times in the middle of a hand especially when it was clear action was on me seemed a little out of line.

Most of the people that I see getting asked to show ID do have that look.

I understand how frustrating it is for ya man, but imo I'd rather that happen, then have the CCC fine the Borg, or worst yet shut it down. If they are going to make an error in judgement, better to err on the side of caution. Just like with bars. It's not worth the aggro if they let an underage person slip through the cracks.

Like I said I totally understand the need to be diligent with IDs. I was more annoyed with how he chose to go about it. Especially since I had a stamp which is supposed to avoid this in the first place and he couldn't wait till after the hand to ask me question. Still won the hand so it's not even sour grapes, just an observation.

Btw 99% of the time the hand stamp works so it's definitely the exception. Just rather floor wait till the hand is over is all

I was ID'd also, which was comical considering I'm 42 years old, but whatever - I was flattered not mad.

My incident was with the bozo that called my name off the list, and then literally 30 seconds later, as I'm in line getting chips, announces my name again followed by "last call". 90 seconds after that I walk over and they already took me off the list. Meanwhile there are 3 other people standing around looking for a floorperson. Bozo #2 finally comes over and I explain what happened and his response is - "Sir you have to put your name on the list". Wat? And that's only half the story but I won't get into the rest of it.

The big issue with me isn't that perhaps they're having a tough day with the tourneys and are understaffed, whatever. My issue is with their snide sarcastic attitudes talking down to people like they're stupid idiots, despite the fact that we're just following protocol (get on the list, get chips, etc). There were no less than 3 floor people who were there Thursday morning that fit this description to a tee.

When I'm called for a game, I always go to the table before I go the cage. I make sure the floor and/or dealer knows that I am locking up the seat. I put my card down (if the seat is vacant), if not, I wait for the floor to come over and hand my card to them and *then* go to the cage.

Sometimes when it is really busy, they are seating at multiple tables and the brush repeats the call before the floor can acknowledge a lock-up.

Going directly to the table will always avoid this problem.

Ive been carded ONCE at the borgata (it was way back in like 2004 I think) before a couple weeks ago when I got carded like 3 times. I'm 26.

I talked to a waitress about it, because the first couple times I got confused when they asked me my ID. Like I'd go to lock up a seat with a floor and they'd say "can I have your borgata card and your ID" and I'd be like wat. I literally didn't know what other card they wanted at first.

Anyway, the waitress said they're carding everyone right now a lot because a waitress got in trouble for not carding someone who later turned out to be using a fake (she didn't ask for ID). She said they went over like 5 days of video tape and suspended everyone who served someone who didn't ask for an ID. She said 8 girls got suspended and a waitor guy got fired. I guess they're just all looking out for each other right now.

Totally agree though it's the WAY the floor guy went about it that sucked. He could have at least waited till you were done with the hand, especially when you gave him your ID and showed him the stamp.

Thanks Stan and Tab and all the rest who made the tournaments a success.
Had a great time playing.

However - I am hoping you can do something to address a longstanding problem in the room. The process for requesting and receiving a table change is a disaster. There doesn't seem to be any standard way to do this. Some floor people write down your name. Some don't. If a floor person does write it down, the "list' is almost never passed along to the next person on duty (especially if someone goes on break). And if a seat does open up at the table you have requested, the dealer has no idea anyone is supposed to transfer there, so the seat is often just given away. I am tired of constantly having to scan the room to see if a seat has opened up, or having to shout across several tables to try to lock up an open seat.

Is there any way to place the transfer list on the main electronic board? This way, there can be an actual record of the list that is visible to all. Also, is there any way to inform dealers to lock up the next seat at a table for a transfer BEFORE the seat opens, so it is not just given away? Any other suggestions?

Thanks. And again - the Borg is still the best run room that I have played in!

If that's true then they need to order wrist bands and the floor needs to hand them out to everyone they ID. I regularly put in 8+ hour sessions (as do a lot of people). I'll prob have 3 beers and go through 16 dealers. I UNDERSTAND why they card an accept that....I also can see getting REALLY annoyed by getting carded by a waitress and then 4 mins later after a dealer change.

In before "They have a stamp..." Obv that isn't working.

I do have to say, the stamp does work 99% of the time. But I have been asked by two floor people and a dealer even after I got stamped.

I also 100% endorse the table change statement. I have never bothered to ask for one since I have literally never seen it done one way or another. Sometimes floor will be called and nothing happens, sometimes player will ask the dealer, yesterday I saw a lady get up from one table, come to ours, stand up 15 minutes later and sit at ANOTHER table, never once talking to floor. Most of the time I just leave and come back if I think I got a bad table draw.

Oh no they fired that waitor guy!! That was not only funny(in a good way)- but the few times he served me I thought he was really quick with the drinks!

Yeah- if it's going to be a big deal lets treat this like a club- floor person verifies ID and puts wrist band on patron when person is seated. If someone manages to get in with out the wrist band, it's the responsibility of floor and wait staff to send them to podium. That way, people don't have to be annoyed in the middle of a hand, or asked incessiantly. Will keep the game going better.

To make sure that you don't lose your seat when it opens up and they call your name, is, when you initally put your name on the list, tell them that you want a "lock up". They will automatically put a 77 next to your name and then when your name is called, they will announce it like this: "John, $10-20 two way...lock it up for John for ten minutes." You won't have to acknowledge that you heard your name, you won't have to run back from the bathroom saying, "lock it up, lock it up!" You'll have a guaranteed locked seat for ten minutes and the Floor will usually (unless the room is super busy) go over to that seat with a piece of paper that has your name and the time that you were called on it and if you don't get there within those ten minutes your seat will go to the next player.

Btw, if you were to phone in your name to be put on the list, you could also ask them to put a "lock up" on it which gives you that extra time to get there, park, etc.. There's been times when my name was called with a ten minute lock up, but I was downstairs in the lounge or at Starbucks...a friend of mine would hear my name being announced, he'd call me on my cell and tell me that my name was called/hurry up, and even then I'd have enough time to return to the room and take the seat.

And, not to take sides or anything, but there are a lot of people in that poker room and sometimes the Floorpeople are busy and running ragged (I know some are lazy, yes) but why chance it? Make your life easy whenever possible. Make sure there is a "77" next to your name the next time you put your name on the lists.

You're welcome.

That is a great question and i promise to have talks with the shifts to find a way to improve this. Never knew there was a problem. Once again it proves that this forum really works.
