I like to walk between Harrah's and Borgata along the water for some cardio. There's a nice landscaped walking path.

You’re talking about that empty field in between them? I walked it once, but no walkway really and thought if I had a few grand on me probably not the greatest idea on the planet to be walking that lol

No. He's talking about the walkpath along the water that connects the two casinos. If you're looking at Harrah's from Borgata, the pathway is off to the left, where the jitney would enter the surface lot.

No, if you walk left at the bottom of the escalators and out of the back of the parking lot, there is a walking path with benches along the water. I've walked through that field, too, though. That's more straight from the escalators, and definitely not as nice and through traffic. The latter has no overlap with roadways

Oh ok thanks, yea I didn’t really think that field was made to walk through. I usually just take the jitney

I didn't know about this paved walk way either. Thanks for the info.

How long of a walk is it? Generally safe? Is it lit at night?

Good to know if I stay at Harrahs and want to play at Borgata (or vice versa).

I am there rarely, but part of my routine is a 4-5 mile run from Borgata starting with the walking path toward Harrah's - You need to improvise a bit - Continue by water past Harrah's, eventually take a right toward Golden Nugget, run past GN parking garage entrance, then run past marina (on your left) and continue down sidewalk. I then take a left and turn around and go back. I only do this run during daylight!!

I noticed the bbj is capped at 100k (and has a higher than average qualifying hand). It's also capped at 100K in the MD/DC area but they always have High hand promotions, hot seat promotions, and other promotions like every 20 min. Most of the promotions at MDL are $500 to $600 every 20 min, I made an extra $800 one day just on promotions ($400 ea.) plus it adds a slight bit more of excitement/enjoyment to your session.
So why has the Borgata capped the BBJ at $100K, but not add any promotions? Why don't they just stop it all together. It has no bearing whatsoever on drawing in additional players so what's the point? Does it reset to $100K? (not that anyone really cares about the BBJ here).

The MD casinos take a two dollar bbj drop vs one at borg (unless that has changed recently). So they have a bigger budget for promotions like high hands.

I know, but still, if it's capped at $100K with quad jacks or queen min, there should be a lot more money in the jackpot which should be going back to the players. Otherwise is should be like 300K+ right now. My dollars are getting sucked up in a vacuum and shot out into a black hole somewhere maybe into a philly mob boss's pocket.

I assume they are building up the promo fund to draw people in when they can go back to opening every table instead of just 50. It's just $6 rake with effecively no promos now which is generally better than the $7 rake in MD outside of a few select promo times.

The 100k cap was added early 2019, after high hand days/times expanded and they added the fast cash thing. All of that promo money comes out of the BBJ drop. My guess it's so we don't notice how slowly it climbs. The small BBJ was eliminated around the same time or soon after. The high hand stuff does draw people (well, regs) in, so it's probably off now to manage demand.

BBJ doesn't reset at 100k. A (small, I think) percentage of the drop goes into immediate reset, and if that hasn't built to 100k it resets for less. So after it hits you'll see some uninspiring BBJ amounts posted.

I don’t know the particulars there but I strongly doubt the money is going anywhere but building the reserves. Some is likely building the backup bbjp. If they do or plan to run other promos like high hands, etc. then some is going to fund those in the future.

It is possible they have two more BBJPs in reserve already at the cap and are working on the fourth.

I think my step counter said about 9k steps or so, if I remember correctly, but I also walked around the water all the way to the poker room and could've cut into the main entrance where the hotel check in is for a shorter walk. I've never seen anyone on the path, so I would think so. It is lit at night.

I'm doing it cause I'm fat and I'm trying to get in better shape, haha

So now that they don't have high hands or any of those promotions why take the drop at all? They should just end the jackpot, give away the remaining balance and stop the drop. The one dollar adds up and becomes about $400 a month, that's a car payment right there, but the key is there's no way to get any of it back except for hitting a bad beat jackpot.

Presumably because it's easier to leave it than to stop and let people get used to that. If they keep taking the dollar now, some might be a little grumpy. If they stop taking it for now, even as much as that might make sense, then people see its later return as an increase.

And it's all going into the pot for when promos resume, so there's just minimal chance of getting it back right now. It's the players' money, the casino can't just pocket it.

Your $400 per month estimate is significantly low.

How are the 2/5 and 5/10 games? Are the 5/10 mostly small pool of regs?

5/10 on Friday night / Saturday is a lot of weak tight players (myself included). I have been running well in it though...Not the best game to play in general.

Here is a photo of the pathway we were talking about. Obviously the long way around to walk between borg and harrahs. But if it's a nice day out, not a bad way to get your steps in

So, help me fill in details here, folks. DMs are fine, no need to clutter the thread.

- Masks must be worn.

- 50 tables now, 7-handed.

- Sign up and leave if there's a list, you'll get a text or call.

- No spectators, no hanging out in the room.

- Drink service ends at 10pm?

- No smoking anywhere indoors?

- BBJ on, other promos off.

- 1/2nl is now 1/3 nl.

- Raked games are now $5+1.

- 2/5nl is now raked. What other games?

- Games still time (5/10nl+?, 10/20lhe+?) are all +$1?

- Comp rates are increased to...?

For the moment, I want to list changes vs. normal, since I haven't seen any clear indication of their permanence. When something like normal resumes, I'll incorporate new policies as appropriate.

Anyone else hate the faded spades cards
