Hopefully the walking somehow prevents your arteries from getting clogged.

Lulz so you really are a ********* reg?

No other place in Canada has drenching rain today...

Maybe Lapidatrix and I will drive back from ******** early and play a little poker this weekend?

I see fun stuff to slash and pop off of along both tree lines. Looks like the slope does a somewhat sharp descent as you approach the lift too, so I imagine you could catch some air there with some speed.

Enjoy and have fun, looks great!!!

Haven't watched succession yet, I'm saving it.

If you like Kieran then you should watch igby goes down, very good indie film from the 90s or so, he was really good in it

Even though there are obvious depression issues (hope you're getting help for that and good luck to you, seriously), it seems pretty obvious from where I sit (as some idiot on a message board that doesn't know you at all) that poker ain't helping you in this regards (and could be a large cause of the pain).

Any thoughts of stepping out and at least trying something completely different income-wise, if only as a side job for now to see how it feels? You might feel different working in a completely different environment and perhaps even a little more fulfilled. Or not. But isn't it worth a shot?

(Regarding "running like this", I kinda go back to what Feely said and it's all about reciprocality: was anyone really making that much of a mistake in any of these hands? Are you thinking you're not on the good side of the cooler your fair share of the time / for your fair share of the money? If "this is the state of games in 2020" then I don't see why you think pursuing them is going to be terribly profitable (and at what mental expense)? But that's really all just an aside.)

GgoodluckG
I don't plan on playing full-time forever, but I need to have more money before pursuing other ventures. I've never been properly employed to do anything and suspect that I'm not fit to do a lot of things.

Poker isn't unbeatable right now, I've just been running far below average for most of the last 2 years and it's hard to motivate myself to put in more hours so I can hopefully even out the variance a bit.

The main difference between current games and games 5 years ago was that 5 years ago I was on the ground-floor of playing GTO-based math-heavy strategies against other pros who were pretty terrible at poker and had a huge edge over everybody. 90%+ of those pros are not playing these days and the pros you see at $5/10 and higher today are mostly fairly good at poker so I know my edge is a lot smaller. But you can still find good games without 6+ pros per table, you just have to look a bit harder.

Where you based sabr42?

That 6+ pros at a table is exactly why I stopped going to Macau, it was no longer an easy game and no longer made sense to play so high and deep. 10 years ago I felt very confident that even if tilting my mind off and a 12 pack deep I was always the best or at least top 3 at the table. Then all the swedes and English started joining the Russians and Americans and before you knew it the tables were all 6-9 people not even born in Asia.

This show is great - I’m hooked and dying waiting for S3.

For Vegas hotels- I’ve stayed from the bottom to very nice.

Cosmo was definitely my favorite. They make the best bloody at the downstairs bar near check in ive ever had.

Sabr- what do you want to do post poker?

Staying in Cosmo at the end of the month. Glad to hear everyone likes it.

Also staying at the Orleans for a night before my buddy (and his free work room @ Cosmo) get into town. Know nothing about it, seemed ok from online reviews

I hope the rooms smell better than the casino floor at the Orleans. Weird overly sweet floral air freshener over old smoke and mustiness.

Honestly only booked it because my buddy decided to come out a day earlier. I was just going to play cards overnight and check in with him. Once he said he was coming out early, I felt kinda obligated to grab a room for his sake (he’s not a big gambler)

I stayed at the Orleans pre-NYE (no TR) just recently. Rooms were fine, would not hesitate to stay there again based on this experience.

Almost everyone chops but rake starts pre-flop.

Go Chiefs! I don't care too much about who wins, but the only reasons I want the Chiefs to win: 1) Richard Sherman won't stop badmouthing Harbaugh, and is a whiny *****, 2) I bet this whale in my room $50 that the Chiefs will win, 3) When in doubt I root for political incorrectness to win. Being politically correct has done so much harm to society; from that point of view alone, I suppose my favorite team to win a Super Bowl would be the Redskins, but since that isn't what dominates every other rooting strategy for me, I prefer the Lions first, then whatever team Tom Brady is on and/or whichever team has the most Michigan alumni on it.
