Crazy timing with Lebron passing him on the all-time scoring list yesterday.

It's always sad anytime someone dies that is younger than you.

Man, the Pro Bowl is a joke. I know no one wants to get hurt in a game that doesn't count, but they are playing touch football out there, and not even two-hand touch.

At least we know someone is watching the Pro Bowl this year. Remember when the NFL did that flag football game on beach sand? That was a pretty cool ideal until Robert Edwards tore 3 knee ligaments and a tendon, and received nerve damage.

Didn't remember that at all, but just googled it. I'd say that was crazy, but after years of martial arts, I tore a rotator cuff playing softball. "Safe" sports aren't.

That probably covers the cost/seat of renting the venue.

It's funny though, I'm excited about the (decently probable) upcoming promotion, but I feel like I still suck at my job. When I look around at the people around me who are head and shoulders worse than me making more, doing crappier work, I understand why I'm next in line. But like, how bad is the state of available workers that I am outshining most other people while still actively trying to learn and develop what I'm doing?
The work stuff is normal. I was promoted to senior this past summer and my first thought is they were implementing the "Peter principle" to get rid of me. Maybe so, but my reviews/raises are great so I'mma ride it as long as I can.

If your reviews are great why do you think they’re trying to get rid of you?

Helicopters are more dangerous than cars right? What about compared to motorcycles?

One guy I went to high school with died in a helicopter crash (Black Hawk helicopter down outside Ft Hood). Two people I went to high school with have died in car crashes thus far (that I know of).

And you'd think that would be more likely to result in injury than throwing a damned softball. But at least in my case, you'd be wrong.

What would you say the number of hours traveled in helicopters is compared to number of hours driven in cars for your school mates?

I spent 2 summers in helicopters in remote areas. Yes there’s danger and if they go down there’s a 99% chance of death, but highways scare me way more.

Hopefully they get some answers.

What's the consensus on poker rooms that serve food at the table. Are we in or out on that?

If we're in, can we at least say "no chicken wings"

I'm good with poker rooms serving food at the table. All the top rooms I've been to provide this service. I just think it's weird to eat at the table and if you are one of the people that eat at the table then you are disgusting and weird.

Obviously the menu should include no finger food. It's the one occasion fries should be eaten with a fork.

They're the nuts. CAZ would probably lose 50% of their players if they dropped the menu.

ONe of several back in the day Foxwoodisms is you could only order finger food at the table.

Borgata has a no food in the main section of the poker room rule. Honestly kind of like it. My regular rooms allow food. Kinda gross watching people eat food with their hands and then grab chips/cards that everyone else has to touch.

I predominately only order food that I can eat with utensils or is wrapped so I don’t have to touch the food

On the rare occasions I eat something I have to touch, I’d wash my hands and then use one hand to eat and one hand to play.

I’m not in the least bit a germaphobe. I’ll work on a car, quickly wash my hands and eat with my hands still basically black from grease. But the disgustingness of poker chips/tables/cards is on a whole different level.

Last year I bought a new house with a pool, so lots of pool time in the summer. After that I had a medical issue pop up where I fainted at a restaurant and then was weak for the next month. The doc said it was vasovagal syncope. Not sure, but my own non-medical opinion is that it could be related to cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy but what the hell do I know? I am eating healthier now. I only eat meat two times a week. Overall trying to live a healthier lifestyle.

I played very little poker in 2019. I'd go play and win several sessions in a row and then as soon as I had a losing session I'd be like "**** this game" and wouldn't come back for 3 or 4 months. I played terrible my last 2 sessions and planned to just give it up. However, Dallas is now finally starting to get some "legal" poker rooms. Texas Card House is opening pretty soon 13 minutes from my house so that could be a game changer. I need to have a passion for it though if I'm going to play again. So yeah, no plans for Vegas at the moment.
