More nitpicks from last night's ep:
- The opening scene of the hospital getting overrun was HILARIOUS. Soldiers executing people left and right with machine guns...but OH NOES THE DOORS OPEN AND SLOW-WALKING ZOMBIES ARE JUST DECIMATING THE SOLDIERS WHO SUDDENLY SEEM POWERLESS TO FIGHT BACK! There's a reason zombie movies skip over the "how the world got like this in the first place" part - because it's ridiculous, and Sunday's episode showed why.
- Everyone at CDC supposedly offing themselves when they had the option of staying inside a secure fortress with food/drink, comfortable living space, and perhaps the ability to do something about what was going on outside seems ridiculous.
It was a dark time.

I think Dids meant premiere, not finale. As far as I recall it was renewed after one episode aired but I could be wrong

I really loved the dialogue where the idiot people were like "OMG what happens during decontamination!?!?!"(obviously everyone inside dies) and Jenner comes back with like "the computer will deploy HRDTs" so Rick has to ask the computer from Star Trek to define HRDTs and she reads him the first paragraph of their wikipedia entry.

Who talks like that? Characters in terrible television, that's who.

This is correct.

The press release announcing that was on November 8th (from AMC anyway)

I think this show is intended to be an elaborate level. Reading through the comments, I forgot about some of the really lol stuff in this show. So so so bad that it has to be intentional, sort of like Snakes on a Plane.

good lord this episode was horrible

I really liked the rest of the season, warts and all, but this was a disaster

Grimes never bothers asking where the **** his surely incredibly valuable grenade went when it vanishes after having his clothes washed?

At least Darabont wasn't behind camera directing T-Dog to do a stereotypically black persons excited dance in the shower like he did with the kid on ep one.
Yeah, I can't believe that reuniting with his wife, son, and best friend after barely surviving a zombie horde that almost led him to kill himself and after banging his wife all night that he could forget about a grenade. How is that not priority number one on your mind when it would be almost completely useless at killing zombies while also attracting more due to the noise?

Seriously, the show sucks, but that's not something to complain about.

the awful thing that jumped out at me was when the Dr. mentioned something about the power running out, then he exits stage left, and instead of Grimey and the others asking him to explain more, they decide to walk down to the basement and look at oil tanks and try to figure it out on their own

I was waiting for them to start debating whether or not to water down the oil so that it could last longer.

The soldiers executing the doctors made no sense at all really. They left it ambiguous as to why it was happening so you can kinda fill in the blanks however you want I guess.

I mean, I guess it was being done as a zombie prevention measure? However the transformations aren't exactly instanteous and you figure they'll eitehr get away or get killed, and them getting killed and eaten buys you more time to do what you need to do really.

Also if you're one of these civilians getting shot and you see this, at that point you're gonna wanna begin attacking the soldiers and trying to get their weapons to defend yourself, from both the zombies and the soldiers. Seems ridiculous to turn the civilain population against you when you're trying to fight the zombies too.

I was looking forward to S2 after I read this today:

Quote:
Online reports have suggested that Charlie Sheen will guest star in season two of The Walking Dead.

According to his rep, the Two And A Half Men actor is said to have agreed a spot in an unknown episode of the AMC series playing a zombie, reports E Online.

However, a spokesman for the network insisted that the rumors are "crazy" and that Sheen has not been approached about an appearance.

Sheen has not commented on the report.
Source: http://www.digitalspy.com/ustv/s135/...dead-role.html

Unfortunately I read this tonight:

Quote:
AMC denied Tuesday online rumors that Charlie Sheen had agreed to a stagger-on zombie role for the second season of “The Walking Dead.”

“Crazy,” a rep for the network told E! News.
Oh well.. I look forward to S2 anyway without two and half men.

Total nit fail imo, if you are in a building that you know is going to self destruct in a few minutes you are hitting that window with a pillow if thats all you got.

Oh, and I thought this was awesome. It was funny of course, but it was also pretty neat how they did it. It was so unexpected that I couldn't help but chuckled.

Spoiler:
why did the Doctor ask for blood samples if he knew he was gonna get blown up the next day anyways?

i guess he didnt want to die gettin eaten, but he made it such a big deal. "price of admission..." plus they had the scene where he was drawing the blood. its like they improv-'d the ending

I just assumed they were killing people who had been bitten.

That whole scene, surprised, breaks down after more thought. So either the military had ordered a Code OMGWTF Kill Everybody, or they had ordered a quarantine of shooting all the bitten people, or they had panicked and started shooting everyone.

No matter which way it was, the scene where Shane hides from the soldier sweeping the room makes no sense. Either Shane had nothing to fear from the soldier, or more likely, the soldier should've shot Rick in the head. I mean, he couldn't read the chart or nothing to see that the guy wasn't bit, as that soldier there I'm definitely putting one in anyone with the sniffles.

Yea but it would beep a lot and then a bunch of zombies would all run to it then it would blow them all up.

I probably focused on it a little too much cuz I waiting all season for him to use it, it's just one of those things that irks the hell out of me because there is just NO good reason for cancer survivor/lesbian to take it hide it the whole time when Grimes realizing he could use it and have it on his person is just as dramatic and makes so much more sense.

Kinda like the box truck/radiator hose thing, we all still suspect Merle is alive anyways, you don't have to have him steal the truck to place that thought in viewers mind, but they do it anyways despite the fact it makes a subplot totally pointless in the process.

We don't know that he stole the truck, to be fair, and the point was they had to walk back, getting there after the zombies, and furthering the conflict between Rick and Shane about whether they should have gone in the first place.
