A+ criticisms all around. I'm pissed that I didn't watch this POS earlier, because I missed the commercials advertising the Breaking Bad repeats (two every Wednesday night, in order) and so missed the first night. I'll have to rent the first DVD and then DVR the rest.

I actually am surprised there wasn't a badass Merle teaser as the very last scene. In my wildest dreams I hoped that he would come in with a tank and save them all. I was trying to think whether the brother would have had any way of communicating with him from the CDC, and I would have been willing to swallow practically anything at that point.

it seems unfathonable to me that you introduce Merle, have him disappear the rest of the season and then not tease him in the finale. of course where the f could he fit in that ridiculous episode?

That'd work well in 90+ degree heat in Georgia alright.

I am waiting for World War Z to be made into a HBO mini series or at least a good movie, so it could do some justice to the zombie genre

World War Z is happening as a movie (i would guess 2012 release but maybe a late 2011, no date has been stated yet). Brad Pitt is starring (his production company owns the film rights).

Merle, hawkins, hell i'm pretty sure they actually forget it is a zombie show sometimes. This show loves to start plot lines and totally forget about them. Half the time this show could be in any post-apocalyptical world.

As much as I like to yell at people for not watching us to be critical of TV shows- Man, the more I think about this show the less I think I like it- even though for the most part I enjoyed watching each ep.

It really has turned out to be a show that you probably do need to turn off your brain a bit to enjoy- which is too bad, because that sure seems not to be what they were going for at all.

It definitely isn't what they were promising or what the pilot showed us the show could be.

i honestly think if this show aired on another network, it would have been nearly as hyped. People heard AMC and just thought "ohh mad men, breaking bad, this show is awesome right? it has to be"

This. First episode or two were very well done. Then it just turned into a poorly written, mostly poorly acted network TV show.

I'm seeing a lot of overrun 50 cal machine gun nests.
Seriously.. a zombie takes 1 hit from one of those things and they're pretty much incapacitated...

How many rounds per minute do those things fire?..
like one of those nests manned with 2 soldiers is gonna decimate hundreds of zombies in a matter of minutes. THen lets not forget the 2-3 surrounding soldiers firing off their small arms equipped with grenade launchers, frag grenades etc.
It'd take something thousands of zombies just to take out a small group of soldiers..

How the hell are these zzzombies taking out these MG nests?

more astoundingly, HOW ARE THEY TAKING OUT TANKS?!!??!

Was the virus airborn at some point? That's the only thing which makes sense... but they don't really paint that sort of picture with soldiers laying dead from bite wounds etc..

ALso, how come the zombies feast the **** out of that horse. Meanwhile there are loads of corpses laying around that seem largely ignored.

28 days later zombies ftw. but I doubt even those would be taking down tanks and apc's.

Unlike in computer games guns need bullets, tanks need fuel and soldiers need food.

It all comes down to supply lines and access to material and you are still left with the fact that they can keep making mistakes over and over but the first mistake the living make the whole unit/base/whatever is put in danger. There is a reason Community parodied the people thinking they are special and not mentioning they got bit even going so far as to have the one who warned them be bit for extra effect. People are stupid and inefficient and there is a reason the phrase human error exists.

That very last one is awesome.

Anyway. I probably won't watch the second season unless I hear direct reports that it's awesome. I really enjoyed the comics, maybe because they were great, or maybe because you lower your standards for comics. Most of the things I didn't like were deviations from them, but the episode Kirkman wrote sucked. So who knows where the failures come from.

I'm drunk. Gonna go watch Community to cleanse my palate.

This, I don't see how you can condense so many events/storylines into one movie. I have a bad feeling it will simply focus on one group of people (making it like every other zombie movie) or spreading itself far too thin on multiple protagonists...

He probably made them himself, well alongside Jack Nance.
