CDC could have been an interesting multiple-episode arc, but writers had to blow their wad in the finale with this stupid idea

I am optimistic that this finale will alter the course of history and make man reconsider our dependence on fossil fuels.

haha right when they really started to lay it on thick I was thinking "full blown global warming PSA" but they backed off just a bit at the last second. It bugs the hell out of me when they pull this crap in a good TV show or movie, in a pos like this I hardly notice or care.

word.

I loved the whole series though, I just really dig the premise of a serialized show about zombies and I like the actors. I wish there were more zombies and less emo sh** but for an intro season it did its job well.

no way the CDC has a backup generator running on oil, but assuming they do, no way it runs for that short amount of time.

lol, my thoughts as well. This was kinda taken from the BBC Survivors show. But just imagine how incredible a hot shower would feel at that point.

I thought this too, as soon as the old man asked what the clock was, and it wasn't at like, 2 days, or even 8 hours, it was at 60 minutes.

I'm exciting for the new writers bc, seriously, how many times did someone ask "what was that!" during the presentation, etc. That could have been a drinking game.

Fun series overall and I will most definitely be watching season 2. Was surprised handless hick brother didn't reappear, and I'm not super excited for him being reintroduced to the group, but if they do a flashback episode for him and his escape from the roof/city it could be real awesome.

I actually suspect that if the idiocy we're seeing was allowed to continue, the ratings would have died PDQ. It seems like a fair assumption that most people are turning in for zombie blood and guts, and as we see less of that, the casual viewers likely fall off.

This and wtf else is on TV? What did this have to compete against (I don't know, so..)? I tuned in in hopes of "hey, I might like it and there's nothing else on right now..".

Despite some questionable writing, acting, characters etc., I still enjoy this show, if for nothing else it's sense of desperation. I'm coming at this from zero comic book knowledge, but it seems like there is a ton of potential for some good old sensationalism next season - Helicopter, Black guy and kid, One armed-Meryl, The "I banged your wife" reveal, and what the doctor whispered.

It's not making any GOAT lists, but unlike True Blood, I'm looking forward to the next season rather than bitterly lamenting my lack of ability to quit.

This. It's like they wrote ep5, then went "WTF do we do now they are in the CDC???", .... "I know, nothing at all, we'll just have it blow up."

Hate for this episode is over done imo.

It is clearly superior to the last episode, purely based on the first 5 minutes, last week = chick flick redux this week ZOMBIES.

Also the intro dealt with a specific nit ITT who asked why would the hospital be all shot up.

Also LOL at people pointing out the irrational behavior of lone surviving suicidal doc who had been in isolation for X weeks and had to head shot his wife. There was numerous dramatic motivation given for his weird behavior.

Dont get the hate of the presentation, but yea, we run on fossil fuels was pretty lol.

The cgi explosion at the end was so bad it was good.

they've all been discussed, but I cringed/lol'd at these unintentionally humorous moments:

nobody giving a **** when the black chick wants to stay, but when blonde sister decides to do the same, old dude is first in line to die with her.

when Jenner mentioned that the French stayed and researched until the bitter end while the Americans were running away, committing suicide, etc. It seemed particularly forced and bizarre to have a random "hey, the French sure are brave!" story, but it was a fantastic lead-in to...

fossil fuels social commentary. ****ing awful.

Oh come on. You guys are overblowing the fossil fuels social commentary. It was more of a throwaway line than a quasi-passionate speech. I mean yeah, it was sort of silly. But it's not like it was particularly memorable. If you guys hadn't complained about it, I'd probably have forgotten all about it already.

The show is enjoyable enough that I'll keep watching, but I understand that it's not a very good show right now.

Something that was an easy easy easy thing for the writers to do which could have pressed all desired dramatic buttons for the viewer is to give flashbacks for each of the survivors showing how the escaped/dealt with the zombie out break before making it to the camp.

This would have given us a reason to like/identify with/whatever the main characters of the show and of course given us lots of ZOMBIES.

The flashback at the start of EP6 is one of the best sequences of the show.

I am wondering if one of the main reasons we dont get moah zombies is purely budget.

Does anyone know if there is moah monies being spent on S2?
