I have to imagine they thought of that beforehand. Everyone else has said it, so I may as well echo sentiments: best TV I've seen all year (possibly ever).

20 people will complain about the length of the episode
Com'on people it was mentioned a number of times in this thread that it was just a regular length episode. AMC even said a number of times that a special sneak of Rubicon would follow.

Just rewatched. First viewing I thought it was clear that Jesse moved the gun to his right before firing. But watching it again closely, it looks like Jesse did not adjust his aim and it was solely the camera moving that gave that impression. Great episode/season/series.

Intense episode. I'm kinda upset that they took this route though as it makes Walter and Jesse so unlikeable. Was hoping for a Walter vs Gus deathmatch but I guess we'll get that next season.

Season 4 = war.

Anyone notice no Hank storyline in finale? I wonder how that will play out, a lot of loose ends.

so how much time does this buy him, his next assistant if hes around long enough is going to learn walts methods, so is he going to kill all of his assitants from now on?

Assuming his legs work.

I think Mike the P.I will turn on Gus in the next season. Walt is basically going to replace Gus. Walt now has Jesse and his gang, Skylar, and the Lawyer. With Mike, Marie, and Hank he would have a serious criminal organization. All of which are great story lines and the general direction of where this show is headed. Walt also has already taken three guys out of Gus's organization. Including two of his street thugs.

I also think that Gus did order the murder of the 11 year old boy. Gus knows every aspect of his business and I think the idea of using children as foils would appeal to him on some general level. If he didn't order the murder, I doubt he would be as mad as to try to murder Walt when he decides to intervene. The street thugs are the ones that broke the peace and not Jesse.

for me it was twofold

1. to show just how awesome Bryan Cranston is as Walt

2. Same logic, to show were walt sr. was 16+ years ago, and compare that to Walt Sr. now, that's the contrast they were going for.

also, guys, Jesse shot Gayle, it's not that tough to figure this out since he had a 20 minute head start, opened the door, and shot him within 60 seconds

ImsaKidd wins.

Anyway, awesome awesome finale. Spent the last 90 minutes reading the Sepinwall review, the two interviews with Gilligan and Cranston, and this thread. Haven't watched Rubicon yet but the premise sounds lame. What could follow BB 3.13 anyway?

It's becoming increasingly clear that not only is BB easily the best show on television, but a worthy contender in the discussion for best show of all time. Just so well written, so well acted, and rich with profound implications on both a personal and sociological level. I'm in awe of it as a work of art.

For example, the Mike-going-badass scene. Preceding it with the conversation with his granddaughter and the balloons, then turning funny with the lady's shoe and the nearly slapstick assassination of the cartel guys... just brilliant. Then it whips back into super-serious mode, relying on Aaron Paul to bring home the bacon in the final shot (pun intended).

+1 to being fooled into thinking Walt was selling out Jesse. Then I cracked a relieved smile when he goes "6353 Juan Tabo, apartment 6. Yeah." Boom, pwned. (Also, I worked at a Blockbuster on Juan Tabo when I lived in Albuquerque so the address hit home for me).

I liked when Walt's baby took his glasses off his face, almost begging him to turn into Heisenberg that night. And also driving home just how wildly different his two worlds have become.

Wondering what will become of Saul Goodman now that Mike figured out he led him on a wild goose chase with the Virginia tip.

Even if Gilligan and some of you are worried about how the hell the writers are going to figure out how to paint themselves out of these corners, I've never had so much faith in a show -- this much talent is unlikely to fail us next season. It will be a treat to watch.

It's true, whenever I need a new chemist for my meth lab I just throw up an ad on Craigslist and usually I get like 6-8 responses within the first couple of hours.
