Having a lot of experience in the Poker Table Ratings saga, I am very worried that operators are giving out this information.
The effect of these kinds of sites on the long term casual player is pretty terrible for the operator. There are a multitude of reasons why these kinds of sites are damaging and hurt the economy in the long term.
I would never play at any operator that gives this information away freely, I am not certain that they have the best interests of the DFS economy at heart.
As far as "Opt Out", this option only mitigates some damage if people are aware of the site. A much better option all round would be to have an "OPT IN" function, where those who want to show off are able to, and those who are big losers are protected. (It's reasonable to assume that big losers do not educate themselves to a high enough degree, and will not know about the site's existence).
Rant over =)
Hi!
1) A player, who is ready to lose some money just to have fun, but doesn't want his statistics to be public, can simply opt-out. Also it can make him start to think what kind of games, formats and opponents he should avoid. Even if you have fun and ready to lose some money, it's always better to lose less often and win more often. Maybe it helps him to think more serious about his fun and study more. It's a lot better than thinking "I don't care how much I lose, but I care that some players can see it". We see more positive moments for them than negative.
2) If all what losing player cares about is that his results are displayed, he will simply opt-out, not run away.
3) Big losers are Big losers - no care about how much they lose, to whom they lose, they are not going to learn, they don't know about sites similar to us, they really don't care about all of that, this is why they are big losers .
