Have seen zero sources that suggest DK will be live in UK.

I can confirm this too through a personal contact.

I'm guessing they are keeping things under wraps, for now, just in case it gets delayed again. Soft launch to fix any glitches before they make their big marketing push.

Just found this thread while doing some googling about DFS - something I'm just getting into knowing DK will *hopefully* be an option very shortly.

Does anyone know if the stats available in FFS members area cover all the bases with the DK scoring system?

Rumour has it that it is for next Wed but it is far from confirmed. 10 days is a very long time in DFS and tons of things can happen in that period of time. I would not bet against another postponement

You can create custom tables using any of these stats (I'm not sure what else you would need)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

[Edit - I've removed the massive list and put it in a google doc instead]

Indeed Opta stats feeds will be very detailed and also expensive to subscribe. It is more suitable as business to business product.

This OPTA page is worth a bookmark. http://www.optasportspro.com/about/i...elatedInfoList

Paul Riley does great work and keeps it updated after every gameweek. It just does not include all the scoring matrix used by the different DFS sites.

https://public.tableau.com/profile/paul.riley#!/

If DraftKings launches in the coming week. We can have them and Mondo giving us daily games for Champions League and then Euro 2016. I can not think of other DFS sites who will do Euro 2016. Good time to market their products.

Ha ha. We all want to keep our edge and improve on it. I am of the view the more successful players around the more these games will get bigger. So sharing information is one way we can help.

Here is an interesting article, its conclusion about stats's role in making up to six game week's prediction.

Predicting Player goals in the Premier League for the next 6 GW's. Basic stats not much advantage over just goals.

Any word whether the DK player pool will be segregated from US?

There was was a tweet from DK on 30th Jan saying "The plan is still to have shared liquidity."

Shared liquidity is gonna be really interesting from a strategic stand-point, with a large injection of new players who presumably will be relative DFS fish, but have an edge in terms of PL knowledge and number of games they watch.

I'd definitely classify myself as a fish, but with a history of poker and much of the strategic work laid out by US sites and regs, it should hopefully be a fairly quick learning process to go from 'fish' to 'average'/good'.

For any DFS experts, how would you compare the strategic value of knowing the sport intimately (watching lots of games) in the Premier League, compared to say NHL or NBA in fantasy sports?

I don't know NHL, but NBA is much more stats-driven (as well as injury-driven). There was a thread on RG and you can not imagine how many players play NBA without even watching a single game a season.

So football requires a deeper knowledge imo (incl watching games)

I also do not think many UK players will be fish initially. Only the very hardcore players know about DK and they will adapt quickly. It will take time for more casual players to enter games in DK (if they ever do).

Good point, I hadn't thought of it that way but you're probably correct.

I am however quite confident in the casual players entering the games sooner or later. DK's big GPP's combined with their marketing weight will surely attract the players.

Im no expert but I've always felt watching games was pretty important to add context to the stats and also to see players who might not show up on the stats but its clear to the naked eye they are potentially explosive.

One thing to note in the UK we are not able to see as many games as people in other countries so we don't have that much of an advantage in that aspect. There is a watershed on a Saturday where live games cannot be shown on tv between certain times (covering the 3pm games). Also over a full weekend the best TV packages you can pay for will only get you a maximum of 4 or 5 of the 10 matches available.

I'm really curious to see how big the PL GPP's will be in the early weeks. I'm guessing $100kish, but perhaps that is optimistic seeing as there's been no media exposure whatsoever up to now.

A mix of watching games, keeping up to date with injuries & rotation is a good start for football. Then following up with key stats if possible from last six matches and recent league meetings is very helpful.

I do not watch as much games from European leagues. But building up player and football club knowledge gradually. Comfortable with La Liga, okay with Serie A. Need to do more home work on Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

For outright betting France's Ligue 1 one looks the value in the Draw market. A very high percentage of games finish as draws there.

I can see Bet4Best are now offering Serie A in addition to La Liga, Champions League and Europa League. Mondo offers all these too and guessing DK will offer them as well in time. So an edge can be gained in these non-Premier League contests.

I think the players that play across varying DFS sites will be fine. I play quiet a few and it is hard work adapting to the varying quirks in scoring rules.

I will advice people to listen to few podcasts archives like fantasy insiders that focus solely on the DK game. Then read around sites that make player picks and projections solely for DK game. For example Roto Wire and the like.

From my understanding so far, set-piece takers and crossing plays a big part. So do not assume having strikers that will score few goals win the DK game.

One has to adjust and look for specific Midfielders/Defenders.

So you looking at players like Albrighton, Brady, Tadic, Soares, Kolarov, McClean, Navas, Bolaise, Bruyne, Janmaat, Deulofeu etc...
