no if you have cap space you can add/drop as many as you want. Everyone has 4 drops they're allowed, but teams with cap space are allowed to use their cap room however they want.

Oh... so when it says I have $19 with which to bid with that means nothing?

I have to update the FA budgets to reflect current cap space, as of right now i just made sure everyone had $16 available so that they could afford the 4 min add/drops.

Team A with no cap space, that hasn't used any of the 4, should have $16 available, but won't be allowed to bid >4 on anyone.
Team B with 5M cap space that hasn't used any of the 4, should have $66 available, and can bid up to 54 (5.4M) on a player, and is not limited to 4 transactions.

i should be updating the roster spreadsheet today, when i do that i'll make sure the FA budgets are right too.

oh ok I gotcha. makes more sense now, I thought that # was all the money we had for the rest of the year, I was getting worried...I also would have picked up a few more players this week had I known, I should have asked and not assumed.

Thanks Exit.

Waiver question: so if someone is available, and I want him, so I just need to bid the lowest amount that I'm sure is higher than anyone else's bid? It's not like the reserve bid price in the auction in which you'd only ever have to pay as much or a dollar more than the next highest bid, I'm presuming.

Sorry if this has been covered, I'm still a bit confused.

afaik you just stick a bid out there and hope you win...so if you wanna pay $50 for some schlub then youll probably get him.

Im pretty sure it just goes through the list and looks for the highest bidder on the player and that guy gets him.

This should be one of the more interesting periods for claiming players...

yea highest bid gets him at whatever they bid (if you win an auction you move to the end of the tie-breaker order). previous salary irrelevant if it's a player that was cut.

Does it matter what our dollar amount next to our team name on the waiver list is? I have $39 of cap room I beleive, not the $19 that the waiver order shows.

Sorry to be a pain.

ok, i actually updated the salary numbers now.

I need to redo the spreadsheet so it looks prettier/i can input trades/FA's better, but it's functional now. if anyone wants a look:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...kE&hl=en#gid=1

and the cap space is updated in the FA bidding section.

And because our rules are a little confusing, the most each team can bid on a free agent, as of right now ASSUMING you drop a player when you add (if you don't subtract 4):

Rack: $21
Sergsz: $55
Thayer: $4
Jokes: $64
Coff: $45
Geoff: $167 (actually you can only bid 100, but doesnt matter lol)
Primetime: $74
Awesomenuts: $21
Fifield: $10
Karak: $31
Pecota: $45
Levarkin: $59
Exitonly: $8

I was at a Jays-Mariners game last year and a few of the Mariners relievers were wearing pink Hello Kitty backpacks. We were right above their dugout, so I heckled them a bit, but I dunno, while that was clearly the point, it was too easy. Apparently this treatment is common in the AL West.

Which reminds me, I'm going to become a New Yorker before very long. Exit and Karak, what do you think: do I go to the Bronx whenever the Yanks host the Jays and take my chances with the locals (obviously I'd be rocking my Jays hat)? Or do I become a Mets fan on the enemy-of-my-enemy principle? Maybe both. El cheapo tickets at Yankee Stadium are surprisingly affordable, I must say. I saw a Jays-Yanks series a few years ago and the heckling was fairly gentle and good-natured. Mostly.

I dunno, tips? I'd be most grateful.
