I assumed that I couldn't send him down to the minors; my understanding is once up, forever up. Man . . . this league has just not been going well so far.
I beg to differ, its been a nice April imo.

I'm interested in MI and Pitching, I have depth at OF and would be willing to trade some minor leaguers for the right deal too

It's probably bad taht I'm asking this, since I pretty much wrote the rules for the league, but:

my understand is that by keeping a minor league player in my system for that 1 year where I have the option (he starts with ROY eligibility, but is put on a ML active roster), I EARN an extra year of control on him at the tail end of his contract. Meaning it's not just a COST move, but it is also a CONTROL move. If I bring him up now, I LOSE a year of him at the end. The 6 year ticker does not start UNTIL he is placed on an active FANTASY roster.

Is this the understanding we all share?

This was my understanding. So for instance, if Carlos Santana gets called up and starts playing every day, then awenuts can either call him up (thus starting into the first year of his "contract"), or leave him in the minors. But come next year, he's no longer a rookie and must begin the year on the active roster or be cut. At that point the $4-$4-$4-$30-$50 schedule would begin.

So basically, you can make it the guy's first year whenever you want, just by bringing him up and playing him in that year. But you have to bring him up the first year that he's not a rookie. That's my understanding, and I really think it's what we agreed upon.

This is pretty critical since for some of my rookies I'm not expecting them to get called up for another 2-3 years. I don't intend to start the schedule until then, obviously.

Oh I missed that. $4-$4-$4-$10-$30-$50 seems good. If a guy becomes non-rookie eligible around 23 or 24, then you get three good years for nothing, and three prime years with a decent, but not outrageous surplus.

I actually don't think that was a terrible signing. Risky, perhaps, but if he hit his 50th-75th percentile projection instead of sucking he'd be all right for the price.

If it makes you feel better, I spent $22 on Jack Cust.

Davis might do as you say, but currently i have to hope a Ranger breaks his leg or something.

I got burnt by Davis before so in the bidding process I probably would have went elsewhere. But I cant exactly complain about Thunder's draft atm, and yes Im being results oriented.

I actually thought before the season started that Thunder had one of the better auctions and rookie drafts. I was surprised.

Reminder cause a couple teams tried:

rookies that weren't drafted in the rookie draft are not eligible to be picked up this year as free agents. This includes David Freese and Tyler Colvin.

edit:

LOL me, i did it too. i didnt ntoice but Simon is too. Soo yea, uh i'm gonna reverse my add of Simon.

edit edit: son of a bitch. i had a second free agent bid that would have gone through if i didnt have Simon ahead of him. i'm an idiot.
