Pecota and I have agreed to a trade:

I give up: Shelby Miller, my 3rd-round rookie draft pick next year
Pecota gives up: Lonnie Chisenhall, Francisco Cordero

Pecota will cover Cordero's salary for the rest of this year.

Also, I've been trying to get a big bat from some non-contenders, but so far no dice. I'll cough up some guys with nice future value for a bat (preferably a 1B) who can help me out right now. Time to start planning for next year!

I have a bunch of quality players on decent contracts that I could be persuaded to move if someone was to offer me a really good deal. They are in my long-term plans, as I think they are both good and undervalued, so you would need to come up with an offer that will clearly improve my team in the long term for me to think about moving them.

Players in this category include Cano ($63), Sandoval ($39), Jones ($38), Shields ($20) and Melancon ($22). If you like anyone else, give me a shout and I'll see if I would move them.

When's trade deadline? Just got back from a long vacation with no internet and willing to move just about everyone.

The trade deadline is August 19 at 12PM ET. This is the same date we used last year, though I don't recall how we arrived at that date.

Did you really want him called up or are you still deciding?

Ok, so please ignore the long list of transactions I just did. I realized that if I added JP right now, his stats would be added to today's total. This isn't good because he was still in the "minors" when today's lineups locked. So I just made a mess and then put everything back the way it was.

Bottom line: I'll add JP in the morning.

How the hell do some of these teams have 50 moves? That cant be all the Arencibia stuff right?

Sergz, I will trade you Montero for a pretty penny.

I might trade Mesoraco for another elite prospect/young player if anyone needs to upgrade at catcher long term. Big leaguers mentioned in post 2904 are also maybe available in the right deal.

the following players are up for late season rental to whoever wants them. they can be acquired for pretty much any player that i will want to take up a spot on my 30-man in 2012 (or a minors guy that i like)

My team can be described as: Don't need a 1b, do need catcher, need everything else less so.

Joakim Soria
Ian Stewart
Ricky Nolasco
Carlos Lee

--

The next few guys are in my 2012 plans, but could be moved for the right price, perhaps included in a deal for one or two of the above. i'm not against taking on a big salary guy.

Gaby Sanchez ($4, r2)
Todd Helton ($6, c2)
Mark Trumbo ($4, r1)
Brandon Belt ($4, r1)
Rafael Furcal ($12, c2)
Corey Hart ($17, c2)

Yo, just a reminder that the trade deadline is next Friday, August 19. So make sure you have any deals done by 11:59pm that day.

Nah, you are safe, I am running way over the IP limit pace, so I will fall back a bunch in strikeouts and may be wins. I would be trading like crazy to try to take first if my IPs were under control, but I don't think I can take it this year with my IP situation.

Your offense is insane this season. Justin Upton, Peralta, Konerko, and Ellsbury are all having career/very surprising years, it'd been a while since I looked to see who was actually on your team, haha.

To be fair, Longoria and Pujols underperforming a fair amount (and I don't think Upton is that surprising giving his age).

Shop is still open if anyone is looking for deadline pickups:

Definitely on the block:
Vlad
Wells
Carroll
Kotchman
Casilla
Volquez
Scott

Could keep, could move:
Chris Davis
Wang
Melancon
Fowler
Melky
Bourgeois
Myers
Rios
Leake

In my plans for next year (would move if it made me better in 2012 though):
Carlos Santana
Cano
Tulo
Sandoval
Alvarez
Adam Jones
Moreland
Danks
Sabathia
Wainwright
Shields
Zimmermann
Santos
Soriano

Want prospects, picks, and anything that improves me for next year. I would also trade Devon Mesoraco for another top prospect - I'm OK at catcher right now.

No, I'd agree on Upton. I was thinking of Peralta (who had exactly one season several years ago where he was this good) and Konerko (who is ancient).
