Pish. Scutaro's going to Coors. Much bigger upgrade IMO.

I dont get it though, Vmart is out this entire year right? If so there is no need to move Miggy to 3B, Prince and Miggy can just switch back and forth between 1B and DH. Unless they want to get him going at 3B sooner rather than later.

Maybe they just decided that even Miggy at 3B is better than Brandon Inge. Which would have been the case in previous years, except that they didn't have a viable replacement at first, and now they do.

Although I really don't know. Where's GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAR when you need him?

It's probably easier to try it just now, and then when they remember that Miggy is a fat man who can hardly play first, they can move him back to 1B/DH, rather than being stuck because they have V-Mart who can't play anywhere else as well. This way, they know whether they have to trade V-Mart before next season starts.

def best to give it a try. he'd have to be worst 3b in the league (tough when Mark Reynolds plays 3b) to be less valuable there than at DH. plus he might get better at it after a year there for when victor returns.

promise THIS weekend i'll start getting the league moving again

Yeah, you lazy bum.

I still need to go through and fix the service/ownership years category, some of those aren't quite right (don't remember how they got that way). We have a record of all that though, so it shouldn't be too bad.

If you need help with anything else, let me know.

Also, I'm just betting on Miggy getting those 10 or so games for eligibility, which I think he's a lock for. So if anyone's interested in Chase Headley, he's on the block.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...hl=en_US#gid=9 (the number under "#" is the players on your active roster, the number above "M" is how many minor leaguers you have. The salary cap number shown assumes a full 10 man minor roster)
edit: note: positions written next to the player may not be accurate. I think our rule was 20 games played at the position to be eligible the following year.

Updated the spreadsheet to show 2012 contracts, and moved the rookies that needed to be promoted.

If you notice a player labeled "Y" that has more than 130 ABs, 50IP, or 20 Games Pitched then let me know and i'll fix it.

I'll email everyone a copy of their rosters so they can think it through. We need a deadline now for when cuts are due. Most teams are already under the cap of $1000, though most have too many players at the moment. You need to be <30 players on your active roster, keep in mind that you will need roster space to bid on any free agents in the auction.

Also remember that the amount of minor leaguers that you are keeping on your reserve roster will affect how many draft picks you have. You draft to fill the 10 man minors roster. If you have 10 guys there, you don't get any picks.

questions/comments/suggestions?

dammmmnnnnnn i got alot of expensive guys.....

-34 salary cap atm.

is there a need to rush the cuts? i havent really even started to do research yet. the super bowl hasnt even happened yet.

whats the order of the offseason activity.

cuts, drafts, etc...

we should first accumulate everything that we need to do this offseason. everyone paid for 2 years last year right?

no rush really, but we do have to get an auction and a draft in before opening day. so not too long for cuts.

everyone paid for 2 years last year, so i'll be collecting $100 again to keep everyone paid through 2 years. i'll bring that up in the email i send out. a few teams are all paid up already.

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet. One small thing: Anthony Rizzo has fewer than 130 ABs in the majors (128, to be precise), and I'd like to leave him down to start the season. Gonna Friedman the poor bastard as much as I can.

Also, Cordero costs more than $5 - Pecota ate his salary for this past year but not the coming year - though I'm 95% sure that I'll be cutting him anyway, so whatever.

We did cuts in December last year, so I dont think its crazy to think we should have our cuts decided within the next month or so.

k i just assumed rizzo got to 130, fixed that, and Cordero's actual salary was 36. There might be a few other players out there that have wrong salaries from trades.

Last year was way to early iyam. In honor of GBT maybe we could make it one week after the Super Bowl?

Yeah, it was a little early. I mean, in some ways it's fun to drag things out a little, but when you get right down to it you could do them just a few days before the auction and it would be no biggie. We're just starting to get warmed up to the fantasy season.

A couple of you dudes are from NY, right? Karak, awesomer, maybe Exit, I dunno? I ask because there's something kinda important I want to know: if the Giants win the Super Bowl, where's the street party?

I'd propose February 19th, that's the week that pitchers and catchers report to spring training. The majority of free agent activity should also be concluded by then.

Mostly though, I'm just not going to have much time to look at my roster until later in the month, so the longer the better for me.

Most likely, whatever street Karak happens to run out into while celebrating.

Cordero's 2011 salary confirmed.

Exit, thanks getting things started again.

Also, on my roster you designated Josh Sale as a pending promotion for this season, but I think you got him mixed up with the pitcher Sale. My guy just got drafted this year. I've made the adjustment on the spreadsheet.

This makes sense. We could start the auction a week or two later.
