Starting WHO? problems....

For centers I have Thornton, Toews, Stastny, Sharp. 2 spots - who do you start?

Thornton probably takes one spot but the Avs and Stastny have been playing well. But so has Sharp and I believe Toews is starting to get going.

Thornton + Toews right? Try to ship one of these 4 off?

2. e johnson
3. barker
4. del zotto

no doubt hes been more then impressive so far, but i just dont trust rookie d-men to be a productive fantasy plyr their rookie yr. almost never happens.

plus, you would have to think, if/when gaborik goes down, this will definetely hurt del zotto value as hes doing a lot of damage on the pp n without gaborik, dont think ny pp will be nearly as productive.

Thronton should always start, imo. Next would be Sharp, at least until he cools off. He's having a hot hot hot start to the season, and you have to ride that wave. Once he cools off, swap in Toews, while always keeping your eye on Stastny if he ever goes on a points rampage.

This is why it sucks to draft so many good C options early, the position is just extremely deep. If you can trade any one of the four of them, chance are you're going to improve your team immensely, especially if your league has a max games played at the C position.

I'll agree with this, with maybe putting Barker ahead of Johnson.

yeah, depends a little, what league format youre using. pts only league, i might give a bit of an edge to barker, but with +/- pim, league, probably have to go with e. johnson

i know i said i didnt like rookie d-men, but ive been very impressed by hedman this yr. although, you have to put a lil bit of a qualifier in that hedman was already playing in the swedish elite pro league, as opposed to ohl, so that definetely helps a ton in his development, im thinking

interested on your guys thoughts on hedman, as im not really a hockey guy.

im in a pts only league, 1pt for g, a, pp, shp, and 1/2 pt for +/-. 11 teams, with 3 d men on the roster.

how would you guys rank: goliosky (not sure how to spell it, whatever.) letang, kaberle, hedman?

if it has the same value for a goal as an assist I would go for people who rack up assists cause they are generally more underrated and are cheaper to get, lot easier to get a 40 assist guy and a 40 goal guy

What a terrible week this has turned out to be. Everyone just underperforming and huge game played tilt. I have a couple players who played like 1 game this week and the other team had some with 4+ games. Ew. Ew. Ew. Started off the season so goot but now those 8-1 leads are probably going to end into 9-9 ties.

Hate the schedules.

WOW. I think a part of me just died from tilting so hard.

H2H matchup against a guy with 2 goalies. Theodore and Conklin. Theodore had a great week but so did my guys. I'm up in all the goalie categories with no obvious sign of losing. Theodore turns out not to be playing tonight so I figured I'd bench all my goaltenders and just simply take the goalie categories. Conklin then puts on a friggin show and sways the GAA and sv% in his favour. RAWR!

We had a trade:

Ellise and Parise for Emery and Malone

Do you think it is veto worthy?

malone has 6 goals this year so far, he could be having a good year... also malone + emery is going to rack up a ton more PIMs than Parise + ellis. both goalies are career .905% at best. maybe more with emery this year since he's on a competitive club. also he's got longjevity, like when he made the finals with ottawa... and i think he's got apatite for the NHL after exile...

in one of my head to head leagues:

started Miller, Thomas, and Anderson over the week and accumulated:

5 W, 2.00 GAA, 177 SV, .937 SV%, 1SO

opponent starts Nabokov and Bryzgalov over the week and accumulates:

4 W, 1.29 GAA, 163 SV, .953 SV%, 2SO

considering how great my goalies played i'm pretty disappointed. his two "SO" came from the 1-0 SO PHX win over SJ early in the week... for some reason now Yahoo credits the losing goalie in a 1-0 SO win with a shutout. I think that's kind of dumb.

BRUINS FORWARD SAVARD OUT FOUR TO SIX WEEKS WITH BROKEN FOOT

The 32-year-old Ottawa native has led the Bruins in scoring for the last three seasons.

Not good. I drafted him and many other Boston Bruins with very high expectations this year. Come back soon.

PENGUINS' GONCHAR BREAKS WRIST; EXPECTED OUT UP TO SIX WEEKS

The injury apparently happened mid-way through the second period, when Gonchar took a hit from David Backes and immediately left the ice afterwards.

The Penguins are off to an outstanding 8-1-0 start this season, tops in the NHL. Gonchar has been a big contributor to the club's success with eight points in nine games (2G, 6A). He is tied for second in team scoring with Sidney Crosby, and leads the team with an average of more than 24 minutes of ice time per game.
Very good. Although I wanted to grab Gonchar, I didn't get him in any of my four leagues. The success of Crosby and the Penguins frustrates me, here's hoping that Goncar is a big piece to that puzzle.

So I just traded Paul Kariya and Steven Stamkos for Jarome Iginla, my team was stacked at center (getzlaf, big joe, stastny) and RW was my weakest position with Brad Boyes and Mike Knuble being my starters.

So my lineup now would be:

C - Big Joe
C - Getzlaf
LW - Rick Nash
LW - Thomas Vanek
RW- Jarome Iginla
RW - probably go with Knuble here (thoughts vs. Boyes?)
D - Chara, Seabrook, Vlasic, Quincey

Goalies - Miller, Khabibulin, Niemi
IR - Gustavsson

so thoughts on this trade?

You made off like a bandit. Congratulations on turning a waiver wire LW and Stamkos into the best RW in the league.

Is it a keeper league? If so, I retract my previous comments.

*Insert golf clap*

Now go find a C/LW on the waiver wire who is just as good as Paul Kariya. Chances are one exists if you are in a league where people trade away their first round picks for Stamkos+Kariya.
