Yahoo probably hasn't updated his status to relfect the IR. I would wait a day or two and then I'm sure Yahoo will let you put him on the IR and pick up another player.

Markov is a legit fantasy defenceman. When he recovers, he'll be back as a #1 PP guy who gets a ton of goals, assists, PPP and PIM. A true stud for the blue line. You can't drop a player like this, even if he's gone for four months.

Jordan Staal, John Tavares, Todd White, Ryan Kesler, or Scott Gomez

standars yahoo Roto scoring, G A +- PIM PPP SOG

pick one of those 5, leaning to Staal, but sometimes i think he gets overrated casue of his abilities that dont count in fantasy, he doesnt play with Crybaby or Malkin, and most of his ice time is a third line center and killing penalties.

taking Gomez has an extra minus as I am a huge leafs fan.

if you actually can't take players off of a team you don't like, then maybe fantasy sports isn't for you

I'm starting to double-think the Semin/Huet for Thornton/Ward deal.

Semin is playing great as is Ovechkin. They are super hot right now and it's not impossible if they keep up a career-breaking pace. The hawks also look good so Huet should be able to benefit off that.

On the flip side, Thornton/Heatley's first game looks completely off and making me wonder if they'll ever find chemistry. Carolina is getting bombshelled right now...

Semin is amazing and he's basically a little less talented then Gaborik, but on a better team and slightly less injury prone.

as much as I dislike Heatley, Ryan and him are the better deal, I see Ryan having a 40 goal 80 point season this year

I think Quincey > Goligoski for fantasy purpose. Goligoski will be sharing time with Letang on the powerplay with Gonchar and Quincey is getting a ton of PP time. Goligoski has been getting twice the PP time of Letang so far though, but I don't know if it will keep up. Goligoski will be a solid contributor though, definitely better than Ericsson. Ericsson hasn't gotten any PP time and probably won't get much all most of the season.

In short, drop Ericsson and pick up one of them.

Yeah, I also like Quincey. The Av's top line looks incredible and Quincey should benefit playing with them (with +/- if not points). He's also playing a point on the PP which should be nice.
