would trading eric staal for mike ribeiro a veto-worthy trade?

if rib stays healthy i can expect 48-50 points from him from now til end of season... staal's had a slow start and injury on a bottom team i like getting rid of him...

it's not veto-worthy. obviously you're trading a far more talented player for a run of the mill C, but hey, you're getting immediate production.

I don't think Connolly has been a legit fantasy option since, well, ever. There's a reason Staal was drafted in about the ~4th round of all drafts this year. All players go through cold spells, and all players get injured on occasion. Stick with him.

Vesa Toskala: Droppable in standard 12-team leagues yet?

0-4-2, .854 SV%, 4.26 GAA

Lost the #1 job to Gustavsson, hasn't won all season, rarely plays, talk of a trade to Anaheim where he'd be a clear backup to Hiller.

I just can't seem to pull the trigger on dropping him. Someone would surely pick him up. The Monster let in 5 big ones against Carolina last night, so likely he'll get another start or two soon, if not tomorrow night against Washington.

Should I try to trade Malone now while his value is high? I mean he can't keep up this pace can he? What about guys like Spezza/Lecavalier, stick with them or trade?

Probably Vlasic.

Just made a trade in the 2p2 league with Bonsaltron which I felt was pretty interesting.

I get:

Eric Staal
Evander Kane

He gets:

James Van Riemsdyk
Brandon Sutter

Kane and Sutter are not important parts to the trade, both are simply depth guys. It's basically Eric Staal for JVR. JVR is off to an excellent start and plays on a top 6 role in Philly and gets plenty of PP time. Staal is off to a sluggish start and is still on IR but is expected to be back in a week or so. I think he'll rebound and return to PPG form and I've got a lot of depth on the wings as it is so I felt I could afford to do a deal like this.

Current offense is now:

Anyways, thoughts on the trade?

I like the side getting Staal. Most often, getting the best player in the deal = winning the deal, as you're often available to find almost adequate replacements for players on the waiver wire.

Anderson has been a study of a goalie since the beginning of the year, but I like Bobby Ryan so I'll go with the other side.

that trade is absolutely horrible. do not do that. you'd be giving up the best two players in a 6-for-6 deal.
