First of hopefully many Delhi H&F meet-ups tomorrow. COCKBOAT's in town.
Literally rather eat my own feces than go to Delhi

You'd probably end up doing something very close to that if you went to Delhi anyway, so good call.

I'd be upset if a relative of mine married an Indian, too

It is hard for me to imagine a scenario in which I am not having a blast with a gentleman named COCKBOAT

Re: Feces vs Delhi

I feel like India is one of the few third world countries where the women are less attractive than western women AND they want to bang you way less than western women do. Usually it's only one or the other and sometimes (Asia) they are hotter+want to bang you more.

So team feces for me I guess

Dudes, Your doing it wrong.

Yeah rest of the world India is pretty bad... but if you hit the right spots in Bombay, Bangalore... you'd be surprised like a random chic in the back of your form lift video.

Had a great time with COCKBOAT. Cool guy. Had Tibetan for dinner and then smoked a couple of cubans on a rooftop with some nice whiskey before beers at another bar and smoked some dank nepalese hash in front of patrons. No one cares. Could have done better with the ladies but fared better than most. This is Delhi guys, even BTM would struggle.

Passed a breathalyzer mostly because I look very religious and was able to make the cop feel guilty for even questioning my pious sobriety. Parking was 2$, I paid no more than 1.

This city is fun.

Passed a breathalyzer where? Like you got stopped? Or are there sobriety checks on every corner?

This is the LC thread, so I'll share a bit about my thoughts on India.

I've always been open to new experiences, cultures, etc.

A few short bits form my life:

When I was around ten years old, I was walking around my neighborhood with my brother and our friend. A couple strip malls away was a market. When we walked in, we were immediately embraced by the pungent aroma of unfamiliar spices. Nice. There was a counter at the front with a window that displayed various foods. We asked him what we should try.

He gave us each a pastry filled with potatoes, peas, and spices. This experience sparked my love for samosas and Indian food. It also shows how powerful exploring and discovery can be. No need to ask others what it's like or make assumptions based on what others have said or how familiar it is to you. Try it!

Since then, I've tried a bunch of awesome dishes from India and Pakistan. Various parathas, vegetable korma, and tandoori chicken are up there as my faves. I love just about everything I've tried, though.

I once had an out of body experience eating karahi gosht. Seriously, bros. Gotta be able to handle some spicy heat if you wanna try all of the options available.

I went to a Southern Baptist affiliated private high school (my family is not Southern Baptist). I was looking around the school's library, and I came upon the Bhagavad Gita. I found it fascinating. I didn't understand everything, but I found that it spoke to me on some unidentifiable levels.

While in college, I took an Indian film course (and a world film course that included a few Indian films). So many great films! I even learned some history. I learned about India's colonization and fight for independence and about Mangal Pandey and Bhagat Singh. I highly recommend Mother India, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, and The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

I've read various texts about India during and after colonization.

I've worked with many people, but my favorite assistant is a young Pakistani woman. I hope to work with her again. I might work with her cousin in the spring.

I've watched many videos set in India. As a person with a motorbike, I have enjoyed these

I don't travel internationally often, but my #1 destination has been India for several years. I'd have a tough time choosing which cities to visit; I would definitely want to venture out into the countryside, too.

tl;dr- India is awesome!

India is a great place to visit if you're looking for some sort of cultural experience. If you're looking to party, it's almost the worst place you could choose even if you have someone like SS helping you out.

The best Indian food I've ever had was in London rather than India. But Indian food in India was pretty GOAT until I couldn't handle it after about 1.5 weeks and craved anything that wasn't spiced to the gills.
12-27-2015 , 07:18 PM
The problem I have with Indian food in India is that often the quality of the meat is poor, which leeds to poor results. The best non-vegetarian Indian food I've had has also not been in India. However, it's easy to get top notch vegetarian stuff. At least that's what my experience has been. Most of my travel has been in the South. Maybe different up where SS is.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I got pinkeye and strep throat at the same time.

Yea we got stopped. The cops had staged a big check post down the street from the bars. This one cop came up to the window and asked me what brand I had been drinking. I was like "Is that a serious question? Can't you see I am Sikh with a long beard?" I had 6-7 drinks over 5 hours btw. I sort of convinced him to a point where he asked me for a manual breathalyzer. This constituted him making a cup shape with his hand and asking me to blow into it. Then he proceeded to sniff his own hand presumably with my breath having not escaped his literal clutches. He concluded I had not drank and therefore let us go.

I wouldn't have taken the proper breathalyzer had it come to it. Again, can just tell him it's against my religion to put my lips around something like that.

aurbro excellent man! it seems like you might actually enjoy the real indian street foods which most people not from here don't. Bhel Puri, Gol Gappa, Chat Papri etc.

--

Melk and Yugo, we had the same discussion about meat last night. Quality is poor on a general level but also it's not cooked well or at least is cooked the same way in every dish.

However, due to different cuisines becoming popular here, you can find more variety in the meat and how it's cooked but still very much below par.

I'm not very familiar with it. I know dudes hold a bat-like thing and there's a ball and the pitch or something. I'd take in a match, maybe.

Oh, **** yeah! Street food is most likely the first thing I'd try! I love how so many other countries have great street foods. I've watched tons of street vendor food vids from a buncha different countries like Thailand and India. Right up my alley!

lol I just watched about an hour of youtube Indian street food vids. Hungry... I'm gonna eat now!

By the way, I doubt I'd get tired of the food. I mean, I'd probably choose something new basically every day. I'd have to go back to the ones I loved, of course.

When I cook most things, I often add a touch of garam masala and/or curry powder. Yum! I put garam masala on nearly everything- like eggs, pizza, chicken breasts, etc.
