I had been planning on recounting these two incidents in my log but with it being time for a new LC thread and some injection of excitement needed after only 600 posts in last month's thread, I thought it would be better to do it here.

There is a wedding in my family and many guests are staying at my parent's house. We are all there. On thanksgiving I caught some people watching porn and ****ing in my house!!!! They were staying with us in the capacity of singers for a big Sikh holiday and were mainly men with a couple of women. All were involved. These ****s are supposed to be pious and stuff!! I don't normally judge people but something seemed shady as **** and I snitched on them. Rest of the details I am not comfortable sharing but my hunch that something bad was occurring was pretty much on the mark.

Another consequence of the wedding is that we have a number of temp-hired drivers to do chores, take people places etc etc. This past weekend I was driving one of the drivers and his wife back to their place around 11pm. As I prepared to drive back after reaching their destination I saw that both of them hesitated to enter their house. Eventually, walking back out on the road. Peculiar, I know. I kept the car slow with one eye on the mirror. Suddenly I see two people follow them out of their house and down the street. I turned the car around and parked it some feet away from the party of four - all walking away with their backs to me. I grabbed the baseball bat that's been a permanent fixture in all our cars but never really been used. It's paint almost entirely chipped off. I am within striking distance of the two men when I see one has a gun pointed at the couple so I hit him in the head first. Catfight with other guy but I struck him well in the abdomen. Then I struck the first guy again, in the leg this time, it ****ing broke. He was out of the game. I asked the driver something like, "what the ****'s going on?" That's the last thing I remember.

Woke up in a hospital with vague memory of being in a car. Family is there. They tell me the second guy tackled me down and ran away (to his own house right next door). I was knocked out. A minor concussion. Was in the hospital for some hours. Scans are all fine. It was risky, I know. I remember thinking about my best friend and my low back right before I decided I needed to intervene.

The two miscreants are in custody now. One maybe still in hospital. After Diwali this year - which was on 11 November I believe - they filed a report at the local station that my driver had burned a firecracker too close to one of the ladies in their house and damaged her eye. Nothing came of it. Then they filed another report claiming the driver had been lewd to their wives. Demanded 5,00,000 Rupees in damages. That too came to nothing. So they resorted to fear tactics. The gun he had was an old rifle that I bet wouldn't kill an ant if you shot it from an inch away. Whatever would or would not have happened, they certainly did not entertain the possibility of a confrontation with a Sikh guy with a strong-ish core

I wasnt actually thinking I would need to hit anyone but I was pretty much too close to not be seen or heard by the two fellas when I saw the rifle so I swung at his head. Wasnt a good hit though. Second one felt like the sweet spot. It was gross now that i think about it though.

My gym discontinued carrying Quest bars last month. Insane. So they were selling remaining boxes for $20. Then their Black Friday sale was BUY ONE GET ONE FREE.

I don't know if you guys knew, but Quest changed the formula of the bars.


If you recall, they were using some kinda of fake fiber that is a little bit sweet (isomalto-oligosaccirides). Well now they are using corn fibre.

They don't taste as good now. You probably didn't notice, but you will once you read this.

I think the previous fake fiber (IMO) causes blood sugar spikes. So that's why they switched. Others say because corn fibre is super cheap. Don't know, but the new bars are not as good. I have chocolate chip going from 9/10 to 8/10 and cookies and cream going down to 7/10. Other bars just as good and cheaper.

SS if you knew the entire background story - about the firecracker & damage to the eye would you still have intervened?

It's obviously wrong for them to have subverted the law by confronting the driver with a firearm but it also seems like a resort to law has failed them maybe?

I've noticed it in texture more so than taste. If I had to guess I'd say the change is related to a lawsuit that was filed against them but not sure obv.

I noticed that Quest bars no longer give me intestinal discomfort. I thought it was because I was finally a man, but I guess it's because they changed for the formula.
