2015 Golden Cha Reveal

Spoiler:

Tough choice. There were a few solid candidates this year, and a few old soliders falling in combat against DYEL status (RIP saw). In the end, this fellow took it down with a solid body of work over the entire year.

Bench Gains:
Spoiler:

DL Gains:
Spoiler:

Moar DL Gains:

Upper Body Gains:

Quad Gains:
Spoiler:

He also ticks the now traditional box of battling through injury and still getting work done.

The only blot on his copybook is a lack of competition, which will hopefully be rectified in a gains-filled 2016!

All hail Jessah13, 2015 Golden Cha!

Thanks. I would say I naturally did a lot of that stuff Clark was talking about (including switching games to Portugese and wotnot ). On that CEFR scale, I would be a solid B1 and maaaaaaybe a weak B2. I think most native speakers would tell me I'm a B2, but I think they're being generous. Like, I can go to parties, etc. and can talk to strangers about whatever, but I might need to ask them to explain a word and vice versa.

I "read" news sites daily, although it's a bit ...I don't know the word... "self biasing" because I tend to only read things I already understand and if I don't understand something, I tend to just move on to something I do understand. Obviously I should remedy this, but that is part of what I'm looking for, something that will send/alert me a "topic of the day", be it a specific grammar concept or a general concept. Like, I love quick but meaningful things like this.

I've also got a lot of Brazilian facebook friends and am in a few open brazilian groups on fb and my in-laws whatsapp, etc., so I read a lot of informal language everyday which is great two... aaaaand we speak more or less only Portuguese at home which obviously helps, but similarly to the way I "read news", speaking at home often falls into a limited range of common topics (as does facebook groups filled mostly with tourists and/or new arrivals).

So yeah, I'm looking for like quick daily lessons as either refreshers to what I already know, or possibly teaching me new concepts and also formalizing concepts which I am proficient with, but that I may not have formally learnt/understood (i.e. I just picked them up in conversation).

+1. For a second I thought Aidan was choosing himself, which until about 2 months ago would have been a fine choice.

Does Jessah13 even LC? If not, someone probably ought to tell him he won the golden cha (Edit: I see this has been taken care of).

I guess we're just waiting on Emoken for the golden loco. Is there any choice other than bdiddy (assuming I understand the criteria for the golden loco).

Aren't you the guy with 20y Java EE "experience" who bombed out a basic Java EE test and then pretended that this was totally normal?

In his thread he said the quad gains SxSxS pic were each about 2 years apart IIRC. Not sure about the other pics.

Bb, how many years until retirement?
12-24-2015 , 11:25 AM
So last night some woman was sobbing uncontrollably outside my door. Actually more like wailing. I also heard a man's voice. It didn't sound like a fight.

I chose not to get involved. Was this correct?
12-24-2015 , 11:37 AM
Of course wtf
12-24-2015 , 11:51 AM
Took the day off today. Actually off until the 4th.

320 hours of "earned time benefit" ftw.
