Yeah, I did 3-4 sets of 8 reps for each exercise, not surprising for saw to nit it up

He just meant that you usually do many more exercises (10), for more sets (5) and more reps in each set (15) than I did, and basically calling me a pussy. I think.

I've always thought it was that notation too, loco. I think this has come up in the LC thread and somehow a couple guys do it differently. But the way they log in their logs somehow doesn't cause confusion. I dno.

reps go next to the weight regardless; sets first is clearly superior, but weight first is fine too

Okay I see what you mean.

I got confused about the exercisesxSxR notation you used.

But yes SAW pretty much making a good point.

But my original point remains

4x8 squats
3x8 sumo

In the same workout is facking hard. If you do this in the same workout, you are going to feel like you are going to die. I know I do, so the Kiwi must have decent cardio if he just responds "it was alright." He is not going to die.

Plus he is using decent weights. I rarely see people logging stuff like that. Skeletor, Weasel, and Cha would die. Even at 60%.

I don't think it would be a joke but yeah I believe you, you are an animal.

I have done similar workouts and they were always awful cardio wise. Something wrong with me.

I should always do cardio/swings even when I am bulking/strength training to avoid this. But who can travel with a kettlebell, lol. Or who can go to the gym 6x a week.

Feel like my form is getting better on bench press. Still a bit patchy, but better.

9th August: YMCA

Deadlift (belted, mix of DOH and hookgrips):
130x8x4

Front Squat (belted):
90x8x4

Face Pulls

Deadlift was death. Front squats felt quite good though, definitely much improved abdominal bracing which really helps with verticality and depth.

Yeah, that's a mistake. It was only 90kg, backsquats earlier in the week were 110. Edit made.

I'm forever stuck in jellydick territory, so I'm sure my opinion isn't worth much. But my impression was same as Weasel. So if it's not hard for jellydicks like me or IELs like Weasel, then it seems it ought to be easy for anyone.

Apologies for contributing to the tarding up of your log.

Also belated congrats on the meet results. Those were some beastly lifts. Still can't believe it's only a year after a torn achilles.

Thanks for the kind words. Rather than dwell on how strong I could have been with nine months of training and not injured, I think i've come back with a bunch of new insights from the opportunity to work on form at low weights which will have good long term benefits.

Comp Bench Press:

Incline Bench (TnG):

Cable Row:
78x8x3

Lat Pulldown:
125x8x3

45 minutes to work out before closing, so did what I could. Felt ok, think my bench form is improving/locking in some of the small improvements ive made. Still a way to go.

15th August (YMCA)

Sumo DL:
Bunch of reps at 140kg

3count Pause Bench Press:
82.5x3x4

CGBP:
70x6x4

Front Squat:
60x5x5

Conditioning:

6 rounds of 8 30" box jumps and Farmer's Walk around gym with 30kg bag in each hand (50m?).

Team training starts next week, so looking forward to less time at the YMCA (**** 32mm bars). No idea if im sumoing right, should have a video up soon. Bench press and front squat form really improving though. Correct core activation is a wonder drug.

18th August: Week 1 Day 1 (GS)

Squat:
132.5x6x4

Sumo DL:
132.5x6x4

Front Squat:
80x6x4

Tough, as we kept rest breaks pretty short. Squats felt good, 6 rep DL sets suck for hook grip, and front squats were causing a great deal of lateral left knee pain, but I suspect it is due to a massive trigger point on the outside of my quad about two thirds away up - once i found it and rolled a bit it got better, but will have to start working on it properly. Ive been quite lax with my rolling lately, and it really has a bad impact.
