On a totally unrelated note.

My initial reaction upon hearing about the latest business opportunity that has found me was that I desperately wanted to do it by myself. After thinking about it for several days, I came to the conclusion that doing it myself will probably be impossible. The inevitable result of this conclusion was that shipping it with partners is probably better than not shipping it at all.

What do you guys think?

[x] Being less balla, but balla with partner is easier anyway (i.e... don't be greedy)
[ ] Bastard
Second to last hangover I was so drunk I wandered the neighborhood trying to sober up enough to actually go to sleep. Managed to get completely lost and walked for 2 hours. After two days of suffering, said basta. Only got one minor one since.

Don't do a business partnership with friends unless you don't mind not having them in the future. Doesn't end well, but I wish at this point I had a partner. Running around too much.

Continuing TR on my shot at $200:

4845 hands, up $171. bb/100 is 1.77, EV adjusted it is 6.32.

Finally got some of my run good at $200 and some run bad at $100. Actually finished down tonight at $100, but well up at $200.

$200 seems beatable so far, but small sample size, so we'll just have to see how the rest of the month goes. But so far, not too bad.

TWM: should have bought this instead, it's like a DSLR but without the mirror. Makes it smaller than a traditional DSLR camera, but image quality is supposed to be really good

Edit: Half the threads on the first page is about rush, makes me sad

Yeah those four thirds cameras are nice. It looks like my old film Pentax slr. However it is also twice the price.
Also did not want something that I had to worry about changing lenses/ having to be careful not to get dirt in etc.... When you have small children these are things you do not have time to worry about.

What do you shoot with?

I'm at FTP.

I think Stars and FTP play differently, but I'm not convinced Stars is more difficult. It might be, though.

The only thing Ive noticed being different at PS is that FT plays more aggro. Not sure how this is in a FR setting though

I've been playing 50NL Rush exclusively. I feel like I see a LOT of river PSB bets on FTP Rush.

I've played a lot of 50NL FR at PS and a little at FTP. I don't remember seeing nearly as many PSB river bets. I've called some of these down and it does seem like there is a bit more river bluffing going on with PSB being the bet size of choice.

Anyone else want to comment on river betsizing for FTP regular/PS/Rush?

It seems to me that 1/3 to 3/4 PSB used to be more common for river bets (unless you have the nutz and villain is a station / maniac).

Oh it's twice the price, didn't see the price on the one you linked

I shoot with this camera, but with different lenses than the kit one:

The space between the last letter and the question mark, looks so wrong.
Is that a french rule or just your personal style preference?

Panasonic's site says $900. It's probably a really good entry-level SLR. Smaller than the conventional SLR but much better than the compact cameras. Not as many lens options as on a Canon or Nikon SLR

If you're going to buy a system camera for the first time then I'd think of buying something like the GF1, Canon 1000D or Nikon D3000. If you get hooked then you can easily upgrade to a better one.

The lens is as important as the camera, a cheaper camera with a good lens can take amazing photos these days. Biggest difference between cheap and expensive SLR's is the ISO performance (how good they shoot in low light), how many pictures/second they take, weather sealing and more features in general.

Edit: Panasonic GF1 review

The Full Tilt store has a canon rebel for 150k points. Both my wife and my brother are beneficiaries of this fact. Very solid camera. sort of straddles the line between a professional photographer's camera and a donk consumer's point and shoot.

But for someone who doesn't take pictures, uh, a camera of any kind seems like a bad buy.

you have to do something with your money right?

Some time ago I bought a tennis racket, two years ago, never used it. Now I have been playing tennis for almost a half year because a friend of mine needed a tennis buddy

So, maybe the camera will lay @ my desk for a half year but then I go to Japan for vacation and all of a sudden i can use it lol

but I will listen to my swedish friend Pele and buy a cheaper one

You do that!

But seriously, I see people running around with SLR cameras everywhere, but they still use it in full auto mode. They could easily have bought a compact camera instead. Sure you might get a little better pictures but not much as they still shoot jpeg and not RAW. The fun with a SLR is that you can take pictures as you want them with full control of the picture. Short depth of field in some photos where you like to iso (lol) a subject. And long depth of field on landscape photos.
