Don't be ridiculous. They can't score 3 points. I don't know who's going to win, but the final score will be 2-0.

If Reid did try poker he might be dubbed a hypocrite after berating attaching the pipeline to the bill.

These sorts of political fights are totally unpredictable though, maybe ipoker will be a nice fu from Mr. Reid if the R's do get their way with the oil pipeline.
Some on Fox would made a small point with some in the center. He would also upset Rs in the Senate. I do not think Reid cares. He should care but that is IMHO not in his.

I think LSU will win, but I expect it to be an ultra heavy defense game like the first. Still hate that there is no playoff in college football .

Do you think Phil Helmuth has any credibility in knowing iPoker behind the scenes scoop?

“I wouldn’t be surprised if online poker were passed in the next five days,” Hellmuth said in the interview. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it passed before Feb. 1 ... I think there’s going to be the biggest explosion in poker history the minute [online poker] is legalized.”

To position himself for the legalization of online poker, Hellmuth said: “I happen to be in a pretty lucky position where we have had more than one discussion recently, you know, there’s some very big companies and some very big people that are starting to get ready for the legalization of online poker. You may find me signing something in the next two weeks. You may find me signing with a company that no one’s ever heard of. Don’t be surprised if that happens.”

Not really...The article doesn't know the tax rate and 25% on corporate PROFIT wouldn't be that big of a deal. Tilt and Stars were willing to pay corporate taxes because it was cheaper than skirting the UIGEA.

Sounds about right. State lotteries charge 50% vig. Can't expect poker to be too different.

possibly...he's got conflict of interest in saying that stuff though. The more he makes companies think he is signing a deal soon, the more people will be willing to pay him/make offers

Hellmuth even used the word "rider attached" when he spoke of the bill coming in five days.

All the shred of intelligence I have in me says the guy is full of it but in my heart of hearts I want to believe him.

You guys say these things as if it's not already well documented that Reid's a lying hypocrite turnabout scumbag. These kinds of concerns have never stopped him before.

He is not in the know. He is just trying to position himself with a deal. He's a fantastic tournament player (NL in particular) but terrible at cash, so he needs endorsement money to keep his lifestyle.

Im starting to wonder why if Helmuth is so down with regulation and legislation he isn't asking his fans to help lobby? He has the least taint of the big names and is american.............why not start doing some public service announcements here, on tv, and in the cardroom? Hell, why not ask whoever he is angling at to sponsor to HELP him do some rallying of poker players? He gets paid, we get to play, and the sponsor gets to start making some big $.

Maybe that can be tomorrow's action tweet.........beg helmuth to help, i'm sure hsi vanity will love it.

I am sending tweets to Reid, McConnell, and Boehner to attach online poker legislation to the tax cuts. I suggest others do the same:

slugger i have a quick question for you if you don't mind.. ok i know most are rooting for a so called backdoor way to get poker regulated i.e. attaching it to a must pass bill. my question is if somehow we do get it attached, wouldn't it be kind of a weak sauce like the uigea was and is? i would think going through the normal process would be much stronger and have more bite to it so to speak. thanks in advance
