The overall dollar figure the WSOP is worth is massive, compared to the rake taken from the donkaments.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get at least a 4% December sweat with some Reid stuff. Cmon Reid, we need you to keep our spirits up just so we can eventually get let down and maintain the roller coaster for a year. Nobody wants to fall downhill if there's no potential upside.

This is like saying the total economic impact of hosting the Olympics is equal to the face value of the tickets to the events sold. Clearly this is far from true.

I would get on board, but the ship is sinking.

I think we all need to pounce on every opportunity to maximize our chances as they come.

I don't have enough information to estimate our chances, but over the years in this fight I've learned that where's there's smoke, there's fire. I hope we will all do our part here.

People have to remember that passing ANY bill is a long and difficult process. Quantifying the chance is impossible, but we have a lot of good things going for us and have seen multiple signs of good momentum recently. Congress held three hearings regarding internet poker last month, and all three had the vibe of "What would be the best way to go about regulating this?" Rather than, "How do we go about making sure this never happens?"

In poker there are things you can control and things you can't. The same applies to our legislative effort. I strongly encourage everyone who cares about this to religiously follow the daily action plan thread and take every recommended action.

The process is slow, but the progress is real.

Very well said sir.

I'm having a difficult time lately trying to stay active. It's a rough gig knowing how long it could all take, but the more of us that are involved, the easier it is on each of us.

I understand and empathize with you slugger. For what it's worth I really appreciate the effort you and everyone involved has put into this fight and hope you'll continue to do what you can.

We've come a long way and can be proud that we've moved from a question of if this gets done to a matter of when.

Have we? I don't see that being the case at all, not federally anyway.

How, not if, was definitely the tone of all three hearings.

I have 1499 tweets loaded for more than 70 congress critters loaded in twuffer. The last will be sent 2/29/2012, If I meet the Grim Reaper, I will still be carrying a small part of the load for a few months.

While everything we see seems to look that way I don't feel confident. I take everything done at any congressional level to always be a big guessing game. Ironically enough it seems to be a game of incomplete information.

Reid going to offer a copromise to exteded payroll tax.

"While he declined to released any details, Conrad said Reid's proposal would be fully paid for and not increase the nation's record $15 trillion debt."

Reid set to offer compromise to extend US tax cut

Both sides of the aisle want these cuts paid for. We can only hope that Reid's proposal sticks and online poker is a part of it. Republicans and Democrats have both agreed on television talk shows today that Congress is likely to reach a deal to extend the benefits.

C'mon one time! I'd rather have them pass a decent poker bill than my FT money come through even though it's close to 25k. Online options in the states are drying up and if something doesn't pass soon I don't think it'll be very feasible to be an online pro residing in the US for much longer.
