There will probably be a lot of negotiations after Reid's proposal tomorrow. He may wait to include online poker until right before a vote if anything, which might be a few days.

This plan has already been rejected. A compromise suggests some other source of funding.

I wouldn't quite say that. Barton is saying that his bill could get a full floor vote next summer. It's definitely the best chance we have for the rest of this year though.

We all would, but I'm not excited. Hopeful, but not excited.

You know what? Given what I said about Tebow at halftime. No chance this will happen. PPA blows.

Thank me later.

IMO a contentious bill is a very slim chance to get online poker attached. *IF* there is something in there I can imagine it's going to be one of the first thing to go in the "compromise" process. The extension cost is estimated at $200 billion which kind of puts the potential $4 billion in online poker revenues in perspective.

Obviously, cutting a potential revenue-adding measure from a costly bill is not compromise per se, but if you have a bill that is contentious the last thing you want buried in there is an unrelated reason somebody use might vote against it.

It is my understanding that our congress critters considers cost for one year at a time but savings ten years at a time. So it is 200 B in cost for extension but 40 B in revenue for poker in Crazyland DC.

Reid tried to add online poker to a tax bill last year and it got blocked like crazy. We have more momentum this year, but I seriously doubt it wouldn't be blocked again.

Poker won't be added for revenue source to pay for tax cuts extension. the revenue is uncertain and too far down the road.
